  • RU dismisses Campbell

Kind of old, but I didn't see it posted on here:

Campbell was likely going to start this upcoming season, and I always thought he was a reliable return man.

Unless some young guys prove to be a revalation, RU is screwed at receiver outside of tiny Tim

I think he would have been a starter next year. Definately a big loss for Rutgers considering the lack of depth at WR.

      My sentiments exactly.

Eddie Poole, Keith Stroud and Tim Wright all have a lot of potential but they're extremely young and raw.

He wasn't that good as a receiver or returner. I honestly think that the only thing he would've done is take time away from younger guys. Schiano is always about "experienced" guys even if they aren't as good(evidence kordell young). The wide reciever situation will be interesting to watch. Tim Brown is the only guy with experience and he is better suited for the slot. However, with Timothy Wright, Mark Harrison, Keith Stroud, etc we have a lot of talent at the position. Additionally, Schiano seems to have learned who his best runningbacks are. With Brooks, Martinek, and Williams, we should probably be a run heavy team anyhow.

Speaking of Rutgers, i went to high school with Martinek and i was curious if you guys think he will get good playing time this year? cause he seemed like he deserved more last year

He wasn't going to start. He was a bad returner too. Mostly hurts in the experience department, but this isn't a loss on the field at all.

Yea Schiano isn't big on seniority, but I still would've liked a veteran to just fill a receiver spot. But it shall be intriguing to see guys like Stroud and Wright as they get baptised by fire next year. I wanted Rowe to play receiver too but Schiano wants him as a DB. There is a lot of young talent though and I trust Schiano. There was another kid from Florida who was tiny but he could fly and I totally forgot his name, and there was another guy from Connecticut whose name escapes me as well.

Whatever happened to Robinson Alexis or Julian Hayes?

I really hope he's our feature back. He played like it last year when he got his chance. Definitely better than Robinson or Young. Him and Brooks is a scary 1-2 punch.

I agree. Martinek and Brooks would be a rediculous 1-2 punch. Both of them dont go down that easily.
