Will Santa Clausen bring a BCS bowl win to Notre Dame?
nope ND gets in a bcs bowl if they finish top 6 by rule. They still can play when they finish lower (although with this years scedule I think a two-loss ND will have a very tough time getting a bcs birth)
They get in if they are top 8 I believe, not top 6.
Don't think so. They would have to have some major turn arounds on both offense and defense in the next year and even that would only be getting them ready for next year. I'm not sold on Clausen at all either. Floyd and Tate are legit, more so Floyd, but Clausen is just an adventure out there sometimes. The better question is if Dayne Crist has a chance.
O gee one look at the recruiting thread and its clear you only post to piss off SNiper.
Also You posted after RavenOfProphecy corrected Sniper when Sniper said that ND doesn't win bowl games. If you had meant to make fun of ND, you would have probably mentioned a reference to it. Perhaps you'd like to contribute to the discussion at hand for once?
If Sniper gets a stick up his ass over things that I post, that's his problem. I don't have a goal of only pissing off one person.
I posted lol because I was laughing at the thing I quoted. That's usually how you do it on these internets. Pay attention next time, clueless.
Yea I think they have a legitimate shot in 2009. Clausen showed great improvement last year. He needs to get the INT count down but he has all the tools. Golden Tate proved he's a starter and I see him having a better year in 2009 than last year. Michael Floyd needs to stay healthy but he was amazing as a freshman, Tate and he make-up my favorite college duo. With TE Kyle Rudolph and both of them their passing game will be great in '09. It really comes down to how the defence plays and if the O-Line can get better. They also need to get the running game moving in '09. James Aldridge needs a breakout year. He's got the potential he just needs to break it out. Armando Allen was impressive last year but as the NFL proved the 2 RB system works so they need both of them on their A game next year. It would help if the O-Line could become more consistent. Their schedule is alot easier this year, outside of USC(which will be tough), the only big name teams are Michigan(who were horrible last year), Michigan State, Pitt, and Boston College(the last 3 they lossed to in '08). Most of the teams on their schedule either had so-so or crappy seasons in '08 and the better ones lost big name players to the draft so barring a loss by upset and the USC game(which I think ND can win) they should still be somewhere between a 12-1 to 10-3 season. That's if they can keep their passing game on the level of last year or better and the defence plays good enough to be in the late 20's-30's range in the NCAA. On top of that if the O-Line plays better than last year and their RBs can rush for around 1,500-2,000 yards combined in '09 their easily in a BCS bowl game.
