    Satan's in bama.

The only thing I could see preventing it is Tressel being the AD. That's the obvious next stop for him....and I don't know how he would feel about it. People talk about ND as if it's Meyer's definite next stop and dream job. The only reason he said it was his dream job is because Ohio State is so stable right now.

When did he go to OSU?

        - Corner or Wideout in the first
        - No reaching
        - No Kelvin Benjamin

Nick Saban said he wouldn't coach at Alabama..

Just saying. Can't really expect him to say "well yeah I'd go there but I'm toooootally not brah." Even if he would be interested he can't really come out and say that.

It's his dream job, but his family is infinity times more important than that, and that's why he won't coach there at least until all of his kids go to college.

Despite ND's struggles in recent memory. They have still been pulling in good recruits. Meyer is a very good recruiter and he runs a top notch program. He would not at all have trouble recruiting good player to a powerhouse like ND.

Nick Saban said he wouldn't coach at Alabama..

.... just before Alabama threw $24 freaking million at him. That much $ = all bets are off.

And who are the beneficiaries of this rumored Meyer to ND move? Saban, Richt, Kiffin, Nutt, Miles & every other SEC HC who's recruiting the same bluechipper players in the South & especially in Florida as Meyer. That's some potent ammo to use in persuading a teenager & his parents, not so much for you but against Meyer & the U of F.

ESPN speculated earlier this wk. that the next job for Meyer will be an NFL team, probably true. The lure of the pro league is strong, but those who have coached in both will tell anyone that college is the far better gig. Couple that fact with this: the open jobs in the NFL are on losing teams with little hope of turning it around in 2-3 yrs. in the cutthroat NFL where HCs are only given that amount of time or less to keep their jobs & the college job is far preferable. In a college town with a winning, $-making program, the FB HC is a demigod, & now the top 5-6 programs' salaries have passed up NFL HC salaries.

Ask Nick Saban & Pete Carroll about that, they are much happier & better paid now in NCAA Div. 1 than the NFL. No guarantees in the college ranks though, look at Callahan coming from the Raiders to Nebraska, if you buy the ticket you have to take the ride. Only Charlie Weis among ex-NFLers now (although he was an asst.) is showing a major program decline & is so disappointing that he's on a high-pressure, high-profile hotseat at ND now. His vulnerability & anticipated ND vacancy in 2010 is what fueled the rumor of this thread topic in the 1st place.

I don't think that Meyers offensive system translates well to the NFL. The spread offense has never faired well in the pros. Just ask Steve Spurrier how his offense worked out in the NFL.

ND is pulling in top recruits even after having terrible seasons because no matter how bad they are, they are still a brand name. Meyer would have trouble pulling some of that Florida, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, and Louisiana talent up to Notre Dame.

                      I seriously doubt that

Because of his attitude or because of his offense? Because both would seem to be perfect fits.

Kinda OT, but I've heard Urban Meyer is a huge douchebag.

Just wanted to throw that out there.

True... Besides, I don't think I could play for a coach who looks like he breaks a sweat getting off a couch.
