    • anyone have any bold predictions for the season? i'm not at all sold on it, but one scenario i thought of was auburn taking out alabama in that late season rivalry to steal the sec west crown from the reigning champs. they go on to play uf or scar, i suppose.

Nothing too bold. Here are my predictions for how the divisions will be like at the end of the year:

        East
Florida (I don't see anyone claiming the throne)
        South Carolina
        Georgia
        Tennessee
        Vanderbilt
        Kentucky

        West
        Alabama
        Arkansas
        Auburn
        LSU
        Ole Miss
        Mississippi State

        • Ole Miss has a new offensive tackle. He's rather small, checking in at a tiny 6'11", 390 pounds.

Four days after abruptly quitting the football program and returning to his South Carolina hometown, linebacker Dexter Morant has decided to return to Athens and play football for Georgia. Again.

This past Wednesday, Morant walked up to Mark Richt and told the head coach " he just felt like he lost the desire to play." That desire apparently returned as Morant called Richt and told the coach of his change of heart.
Good news for Georgia fans. This kid looks solid. 6'6", 230 pounds with offers from Florida, Florida State, and a host of others.

              • Terrell Brown, 6-11 395. Doubt he ever amounts to anything but that is a monster.

Tennessee DE Ben Martin and DT Marlon Walls both ruptured an Achilles' tendon. They're probably out for the year.

                    • Losing Ben Martin sucks for the Vols, that's too bad.

Is Marlon Walls really a DT now? I remember Ole Miss wanted him pretty bad out of HS and at the time he was a 220 pound OLB prospect. Is he a DT or is that just a misprint by ESPN?

Listed as a 6'3", 278-pound LB by UT's site. The Tennessean's article on the injury also called him a DT, though.

                        • He's a defensive tackle. And it really sucks to lose him since he was a starter at such an already paper-thin position depth wise. Ben Martin hurts, but we're pretty talented and much deeper at DE.

LSU MLB Kelvin Sheppard is now LSU OLB Kelvin Sheppard.

That would be because starting OLB Ryan Baker broke his jaw.

He played OLB last season so its not a big deal. Baker will be back soon, supposedly after the UNC game. Kevin Minter has been beasting from what I hear on the radio so he's a better, more ready replacement than anyone on the 2 deep at OLB. Baker def. needs to come back soon though, his special teams play last year has me excited about his potential.

Now if we could only get our ex-Olineman head coach to teach our current Oline how to block.
