•
South carolina could make this interesting. If they win they go to the Sugar bowl, TCU to the national title, Stanford to the Rose bowl, and Auburn most likely plays in the Orange bowl.

Looks as if TCU, Stanford, and the Orange bowl would benefit a lot of Auburn losing to South Carolina. And the team that gets screwed the most by it is clearly LSU. To go 11-1 in the SEC and not make a BCS bowl. Ouch.
Most years that would you get you into the title game. Maybe the National Championship should just always pair the SEC Champ with the best of the rest, lol

      And that will indeed happen.
How is that ridiculous? A 10-3 SEC/B10/P10/B12 team is 100x more deserving of a BCS bid than any 11-1 NAQ.

Probably not a horrible idea most years, other then the possibility of South Carolina making the national championship this year.

Not to mention that the SEC champ certainly deserves a BCS bowl bid more then any 11-1 team not in a real conference.

            Uh, not at all.

An overtime loss to a competent Top 15 conference rival > 3 losses to mediocre big conference teams.

              • So youre actually going to try to say that Boise deserves a bid over the South Carolina is they are the champion of the best conference in the country?

Sorry, no one is going to take that seriously. If you wanna ***** about the Big East go for it, but the SEC champ certainly deserves their spot.

If South Carolina wins, both Boise and LSU will be left out of bowls. It'll definitely be a bigger screw job for 11-1 LSU then 11-1 Boise.

If you think he's bad listen to Lou Holtz sometime. Half the time he doesn't make any damn sense and the other half you can't understand him anyway...like he's trying to talk with a mouthful of water.

I agree that 2 SEC teams deserve BCS spots. It is the strongest conference in football, but... A 3-loss team ahead of 1-loss teams? Uh, uh, no.

That's part of why I don't like Championship games. A multi-loss team from the weaker half of the conference can get lucky once and basically knock several more deserving teams out (they get in, the team they beat usually also gets in, one spot is gone......)

Logic and common sense just have no place in college football...I don't even know why I try to apply them anymore.

                        • Championship games can do that, but I'm excited for the Big Ten to get one. At least then we wont have a 3 way tie for the Big Ten title. Somehow hearing about OSUs six straight big ten titles isn't quite an accomplishment when you consider they actually finished behind teams 2 of those years.

It's not like South Carolina will be undeserving if it happens. Sure they have 3 losses, but they won the SEC, that deserves a spot.

And it's most likely not going to happen so the system will work out fairly well again. The only team making it that shouldnt is the Big East Champ.

They have played in the SEC East; a poor Florida team, Kentucky, Georgia minus AJ Green, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. They lost 3 conference games and finished with the same record as 4th place Alabama in the SEC West. If they beat Auburn it counts for something, but it doesn't automatically forget about their three losses this year.

They lost to Kentucky!!! I'm confident Nevada would beat Kentucky

                              • They just said on game day at if a team finishes in the top 4 and doesn't win their title, they automatically get an at large bid.

So if South Carolina wins and take the SEC title spot, and LSU finishes in the top 4 and Auburn finishes at lets say 5, will the BCS bowls have to take LSU over Auburn?

Seems like South Carolina winning will cause a hell of a lot of problems.
