Nothing on Taylor Gadbois and Jalen Grimble.

Pretty disappointing day. Missing out on all the WRs is rough. Getting Grimble was huge. Hopefully they can add Brissett. Golden did a great job with what he had to work with though. Hopefully Duron Carter can get in and Savage transfers in. Really good defensive class, got a kicker and punter. 2012 in South Florida is OUTSTANDING, gotta get a top 5 class next year.

            • Here's my yearly write up for the recruiting class. With the time the staff had they did a pretty good job basically going from one solid commit to a class of 16. The star ratings are what I rate them as.

              QB- F
Might not be fair grading a position where no player was added but at a huge position of need for both talent and depth no one was brought in. You never want to reach on a player but QB is the one position where having a guy being a career back up isn’t a wasted scholarship.

              WR- B-
Phillip Dorsett (solid 4*)- Speed guy who is also very quick. Average size (5-10 170) but has a good build for a smaller guy. Catches with his hands and can adjust to the ball. Deep threat who can get behind people. Good return man. Has some mental lapses. Chose UM over UNC early and stuck with that commitment all year. Diehard Cane who comes from one of the best programs in the country.

              Rashawn Scott
(solid 3*)- Very good size at 6-2 200 with a great build. Extremely raw player who runs poor routes and catches with his body. Dominated sub par opponents in high school. Great after the catch. Top end speed is a question. Was a WVU/USF battle before UM offered. Solid prospect who needs to develop.

              OL- C+
Taylor Gadbois (high 3*)- Huge (6-7) guy with good athleticism. Mauler who plays with a nasty demeanor. Extremely raw and didn’t play his junior year. Plays with a good pad level. Life long Cane fan who chose Miami over offers from UGA and GT. Very lean and will need time to develop. Solid RT prospect.

              DL- B+
Anthony Chickillo (5*)- Third generation Hurricane. Amazing motor and technique, uses his hands extremely well and has a variety of moves. High football IQ. Good size at 6-4 250. Solid first step. Very agile and has experience rushing from a two point stance. Good overall athleticism. 18 sacks as a senior and was the MVP of the UA All American game. Was recruited by everyone in the country. Gem of the class and one of the elite players in the country.

              Jalen Grimble
(high 4*)- Excellent size/athleticism/strength combo. Great frame (6-4 255) with long arms and should be able to put on weight while maintaining athleticism. Uses hands very well and plays with good leverage. Stout at the point of attack. Average first step and motor. Long time USC commit. Should grow into a very good interior pass rusher and has the versatility to player anywhere on the line.

Olsen Pierre (high 3*)- Long athlete with a good frame (6-4 265). Good first step. Uses his hands well and disengages from blockers. Tackles a little high. Stacks well. Was committed to Temple before Golden came to Miami. Should develop into a solid run defender at end who is able to apply some pressure and could grow into a DT.

Ricardo Williams (low 3*)- Very tall (6-5) and lean with a WR frame. Fantastic first step and athleticism. High motor. Has experience dropping into coverage as a linebacker. Struggles to disengage from blockers. Recruited very hard by Butch Davis. Fairly raw athlete whose top end is probably a situational pass rusher.

              LB- B
Denzel Perryman (solid 4*)- Short (5-11) with a solid build (215). Violent hitter who was insanely productive at the high school level. Great instincts and diagnoses plays very well. Chase linebacker who makes plays sideline to sideline but also can come downhill and make plays in the backfield. Avoids blockers well. Solid speed. Lack of height will cause issues at the next level. Recruited hard by FSU, UF and Bama. Likely a WLB in college with some potential inside.

Gionni Paul (low 4*)- Average height (6-0) but a thick build (225) and very athletic. Explosive hitter. Plays downhill and has solid instinct. Gym rat. Solid in coverage. Tackles high and needs to wrap up better. Arizona State commit who flipped to Miami late. Could play any LB position in college but looks like a weakside guy.

Eddie Johnson (solid 3*)- Good sized MLB prospect at 6-2 220. Very athletic and a big hitter. Scrapes well. Sideline to sideline guy. Average instincts. Played RB/FB/WR/TE on offense as well as returning kicks. Former Louisville and UCF commit. Solid all around athlete will potential at multiple positions.

Antonio Kinard (low 3*)- 6-3 with frame to add weight. Solid tackle who plays his gap well. Good blitzer with some upside there. Solid athleticism. Former Michigan signee who went to prep school before committing to Miami. Projects to the strongside but could play inside.

              DB- B-
Thomas Finnie (low 4*)- Smallish at 5-10 170. Fantastic speed. Very quick. Not afraid to hit. Very aggressive and plays with a ton of confidence. Breaks on the ball very well. Look solid in man and zone coverage. Plays ball well but has bad hands. Flipped from SCAR to UM. Press man corner who was one of the best in Florida last season. Early enrollee who could contribute early.

              Dallas Crawford
(high 3*)- Pretty small at 5-9 but good build (185). Extremely quick. Great instincts. Aggressive hitter who throws his body around. Big time playmaker with 19 INTs the past two seasons. Played QB in high school along with safety. Team leader. Top end speed is a question. Probably too small to play safety in college. Will likely start at corner but can play most positions in the secondary.

Kevin Grooms (high 3*)- Average size (5-10) with average frame. Explosive athlete who was primarily a RB in high school. Dominate return man. Was arrested in 8th grade for stealing a truck. Was recruited very hard by VT late. Very agile and very good athleticism. Could play RB at the next level but is likely a corner and return man.

              K- B
Matt Goudis (solid 3*)- Former Boise St and Michigan commit. Solid athlete that also played CB in high school. Long of 54 in high school.

              P- B
Dalton Botts (solid 3*)- Top JUCO punter in the nation. Former LSU commit. Big leg.

              Overview- C+
Defensive heavy draft, which shows the focus of the new staff. Lot of versatile guys that project to multiple positions. Whether it is a 4-3 or 3-4 the new defensive scheme will be very different than the previous staff and they needed to get guys that fit that system. The lack of a QB, big (literally) DT, TE, S and true difference makers hurts the class but for the time given the staff did a solid job of bringing in good players. Chickillo, Grimble, Perryman and Finnie are all big additions on D and Phil Dorsett is an explosive athlete at WR. A lot of true football players in this class.

              • Also here are some names to watch for 2012. South Florida looks really good next year, especially for UM. Eddie Goldman is probably the #1 player in the country and is a UM fan. Bolded are committed already.

                • WR - Cayleb Jones

Daniel Perry is not a Miami-caliber recruit. His name is being mentioned because of his brother, kinda like Kenneth Hankerson, except worse. He's slow as molasses on a Lynden Trail frame.

Yes, I think he did play a little bit. Either way, I'm pretty sure he will have to sit out next year.

Where did you get this from? He attempted 84 passes and ran 22 times.

I was not sure, because Robinson played all season. I do not watch Big 10 footall, hell I don't watch nothing outside of ACC/SEC
