Let some other people have their input. This isn't a 2 man show.

I still think you should only allow fans from their own team, but Adrian Peterson is the pick for the Browns, I agree. And Calvin Johnson is a lock for the Bucs at 4.

(From the perspective of Phil Savage/Romeo Crennel)

The Cleveland Browns select QB Brady Quinn, Notre Dame.

I love All Day every day, but I have no franchise quarterback and my offensive line isn't what it should be, so Peterson doesn't get the nod - especially when you can find a runningback throughout the draft, and next year's class could be the best we've seen in years.

Even more than that, Brady Quinn is the prize. He's the total package physically and mentally, and has even been of benefit of NFL coaching in the last two years such that he can break down defenses and work the film as well as any prospect in the last few years. Despite playing behind an offensive line that was shaky in pass protection and playing with a defense that forced him to constantly score, Quinn did an excellent job in keeping his team in games except contests where the talent level wasn't even close. He's a superb prospect at the game's premier prosition, worthy of the investment that is the 3rd overall pick, even with room to improve. I can sleep at night without any concern whatsoever about Brady Quinn's character and commitment to football.

And as the general manager/head coach, I finally have something to sell to the citizens of Cleveland as well as Browns fans everywhere (the previous best being Kellen Winslow Jr, who is dependent on the quarterback). Everyone thought we would draft DT Haloti Ngata last year, but a stud 3-4 OLB is the more premier position worthy of the rookie contract, and the Browns did an excellent job in selecting rookie stud Kamerion Wimbley. The same will occur here in 2007 between RB Adrian Peterson and QB Brady Quinn. Quinn will be my guy for the next 15 years, and has a better chance of buying me an extra year of job security in Cleveland.

Alright get AP out of the way and give the Bucs CJ already. The Cards pick is actually interesting.

The Arizona Cardinals select DE Gaines Adams, Clemson.

We have Bertrand Berry and Chike Okeafor as our starting DEs, and at the moment have no viable depth come the 2007 season.

In his 3 years with the Cardinals thus far, RDE Bertrand Berry has only played one full season as he's suffered season-ending injuries twice, and he is signed through 2008 which means he has only two more seasons on his current contract and will be a 34-year-old free agent come the start of the 2009 season. RDE is one of the most important positions in all of football, and so the Cardinals need to secure a long-term, playmaking answer at RDE.

LDE Chike Okeafor is over 30 years old himself, no spring chicken. DE Antonio Smith has been with the Cardinals for 3 years, and in the last 2 years has played in 28 games to step in for the injured Berry, but only had 41 total tackles and 5.5 sacks to show for it; he'll stay on as an experienced gamer for depth, but we're not comfortable having him play any more pivotal a role than that. Chris Cooper is a free agent, also. Thus, the team needs to bring in a young playmaking DE to rotate in.

The Cardinals have done a superb job in addressing the defensive tackle position, with a core that is now at a playoff-caliber level, but the pass rush by the ends is not at that level and that's something we have to address - especially with a secondary that also isn't at a playoff-caliber level at the moment. A stellar pass rush can help mask and protect a young/shaky secondary though, so pass rush is an area the Cardinals plan to improve on as we try to contend in the playoffs for years to come.

Enter Gaines Adams, an athletically-gifted pass-rusher who consistently makes his home in the opponents' backfields, despite the fact that they know he's coming. With his speed, he'll terrorize opponents on the fresh surface of the University of Phoenix Stadium. Adams can rotate in with the starters throughout his rookie season, especially on clear passing downs, until he's earned starting duties for the franchise.
                            Pugnacity, testosterone, truculence, and belligerence.
