Huge reaches by the Giants in both rounds. Cason is no where near a first rounder and unless a cover-2 team decides to jump the gun on him, I don't expect him to be drafted in the 2nd round either. As far as Steltz goes, he is another guy who is very slow and I feel was benefited more by where he played rather than by his own merits.

    For improvements, I would suggest:

    1. Tracy Porter or Patrick Lee

    2. Tavaris Gooden, Geno Hayes, or Tyrell Johnson

ok first rounder, but if Ellis is the pick in the 1st, give us Groves in the 2nd, or possibly Flacco, Sam Baker, or even James Hardy. I'm not a big fan of Lofton at all, as I think he would be a horrible fit in our defense. Love the Nicks pick though!

if phillips, merling, campbell, harvey, and chris williams were off the board i'd have no problem with taking matt ryan at 17. in round two i'd prefer albert, nicks, doucet or sweed although hawkins ain't bad.

Mendenhall/Porter works for me, although I don't know a whole lot about Porter. I do hope we could somehow work out a trade and get our hands on Henderson or Adibi late-second. Good draft otherwise.

Connor is kind-of a reach at 11, but I still wouldnt mind that draft.

So is it you or him I should rip for the Brohm pick? Give us any of the next 4 guys or Chris Williams. I'd prefer Matt Ryan which I know is not a consensus with all Bears fans but he BPA IMO.

Silva is a bit too high even for me (and I'm a BC fan extremely high on him) and McKelvin isn't a good fit at all. Talib or Jenkins if you must put us down with a CB.

As great a value as Matt Ryan is he will not be our pick. We are not picking a quaterback in the first round and Kenny Phillips is just as good a value and in a position of much greater need.

I guess I don't mind reaching for Clady at 5, considering both Ellis and Dorsey are already off the board (as well as Jake Long obviously), but I would have preferred Branden Albert 2nd round. If he's there at second I really don't want to see us pass up on him.

i should just store this somewhere so i can copy/paste it during drafts like this...

                            eh-hem:

brian brohm is not that much better than guys who will be available at least a round later such as woodson or flacco.

nabbing an elite OT or at the very least a RB to compete with benson is more important. otah/williams in round 1 with woodson in 2 is much more appealing seeing as how theres an immediate need at RT and kyle orton has earned himself at least a chance a spot at starting next year

                              Why Harvey over Calais?

We already have a nice speedrusher in A.Carter.
