  • Quick Post-Combine Mock Draft (w/Trades)

My second attempt. Comments are welcomed

** NE trades #7 to Dallas for 22, 28, and a fourth round pick.
    * Carolina trades #13 to Minnesota for 17 and a third round pick.
*** Arizona trades #16 to Houston for #18 and a fifth round pick.

    1. Miami Dolphins...... Needs: DT, ILB, OT
    Pick: Vernon Gholston, OSU DE/OLB

Parcells sees alot of Demarcus Ware in Gholston and he will help energize an aging defense to provide excellent pass rush skills.

    2. St. Louis........Needs: DE, OL, WR
    Pick: Jake Long, UM, OL

Long impressed scouts at the combine by his freakishly large hands and wingspan. Long may be the safest pick in the draft and will help protect Mark Bulger for the future.

    3. Atlanta Falcons.....Needs: QB, OT, RB
    Pick: Matt Ryan, QB, BC

Falcons desperately need a franchise play caller and Ryan will give them the right image they need, a hard working player willing to sacrifice in order to succeed.

    4. Oakland Raiders....Needs: DT, OT, RB
    Pick: Glenn Dorsey, LSU, DT

Dorsey is a nasty player Al Davis loves. An athlete and playmaker from the defensive line, the Raiders snatch a guy they destine to become a stud.

    5. Kansas City.....Needs: OL, CB, WR
Pick: Ryan Clady, Boise St. OT

KC really needs an offensive lineman more than any team in the draft and they take the next best OT prospect.

    6. NYJ......Needs: NT, OLB, OL
    Pick: Chris Long, DE/OLB

Jets gave permission to Jonathon Vilma to seek a trade to anyone but the Patriots. Long will prove to be his successor and will bring a nasty attitude to help defend against the Pats.

    **7. Dallas....... Needs: CB,WR, RB
    Pick: Darren McFadden, RB, ARK

DMAC is a top five talent but falls because lack of need in terms of RBs for the teams picking above. Dallas wants weapons and Jerry Jones usually gets what he wants.

    8. Baltimore......Needs: QB, CB, DL
    Pick: Leodis McKelvin, TROY, CB

A physical CB with tons of upside. DRC could be the pick because he is rising up draftboards with his 40 time, size, and athleticism.

    9. Cincinnati.....Needs: DT, OLB, DE
    Pick: Sedrick Ellis, NT, USC

The ultimate run stuffer that the Bengals need. Bengals need alot of help on defense and they get the guy the covet.

    10. New Orleans.......Needs: CB, MLB, DT
    Pick: Keith Rivers, ILB, USC

Rivers is an ILB by trade and will be the defensive rookie of the year. The Saints have been looking the past drafts for a stud LB and they land him here.

    11. Buffalo.......Needs: CB, MLB, DT
    Pick: Mike Jenkins, USF, CB

They are still reeling from the loss of Nate Clements and they grab a guy who is very solid and can contribute right away.

    12. Denver......Needs: DT, S, OT
    Pick: Jeff Otah, Pitt, OT

Otah is athletic enough to run their zone blocking running scheme and provide athleticism to a good offensive live.

    *13.Minnesota.... Needs: WR, DE, S
    Pick: Derrick Harvey, DE, UF

Harvey is rising up draft boards and will give them a tremendous pass rush they desperately lack.

    14. Chicago..... Needs: QB, OT, OG
    Pick: Jonathon Stewart, RB, Oregon

The Bears realize Cedrick Benson is awful and that their offense is in terrible shape

    15. Detroit..... Needs: CB, OT, TE
    Pick: Chris Williams, OT, Vandy

Kitna got destroyed everytime I saw him play last year and Williams gives the Lions another a good player at a needed position. (I almost had them pick a WR! haha)

    ***16. Houston.....Needs: S, CB, OT
    Pick: Kenny Phillips, S, UM

Texans trade in front of the Panthers in order to get the guy they covet. They need Phillips to help their defense trying to stop the Colts.

    *17. Carolina....Needs: OT, S, QB
    Pick: Brian Brohm, QB, UL

They trade down and get the second best QB prospect in the draft. They could really trade down again if they wanted.

***18. Arizona..... Needs: CB, DE, RB
Pick: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Tenn St, CB

DRC is quickly rising up draft boards and could possibly be the #1 CB when it is all said and done. Gives the Cards another physical CB to help their defense.

    19. Philadelphia....... Needs: CB, WR, OL
    Pick: Malcolm Kelly, WR, OU

Kelly is the big play receiver they need. He may now be the #1 overall WR in the draft since Jackson is really small and Manningham is slow.

    20. Tampa Bay...... Needs: DT, WR, CB
    Pick: Kentwan Balmer, DT, UNC

The third best DT prospect and helps TB with a big run stuffer. They may sign Asante Samuel so CB is not needed here.

    21. Washington.......Needs: DE, WR, DB
    Pick: Phillip Merling, DE, Clem

Merling helps Washington's aging defensive line and provides a decent pass rush with excellent run stopping skills.

**22. New England.....Needs: LB, CB, OT
    Pick: Reggie Smith, CB/S, OU

Smith was interviewed by the Pats at the combine and its said the Pats love his versatility within their system, can play CB and S.

    23. Pittsburgh...... Needs: OG, OT, DB
    Pick: Brandon Albert, UVA, OG

This pick makes too much sense since Faneca is most likely leaving and Albert is the best OG prospect in the draft.

    24. Tennessee...... Needs: WR, DL, TE
    Pick: Limas Sweed, WR, UT

Sweed played with Vince in college, but he surprised with his speed at the combine and his size makes him a very likable target they need in the system.

    25. Seattle....... Needs: TE, RB, OL
    Pick: Rashard Mendenhall, Ill, RB

The eventual successor to the often injured Shaun Alexander and gives the Seahawks a back with great speed.

    26. Jacksonville..... Needs: DE, WR, S
    Pick: Calais Campbell, DE, UM

WR was the pick here until they acquired Troy Williamson (HA! JP) But Campbell gives them a guy to develop who has tremendous pass rushing skills but lacks consistently.

    27. San Diego.....Needs: S, DL, OL
    Pick: Quentin Groves, DE/OLB

A guys who has tremendous speed and heart will bring more speed to this defense and can occasionally drop back in coverage.

**28. New England.........Needs: LB, CB, OT
    Pick: Desean Jackson, WR, Cal

Moss, Gaffney, Stallworth, Washington are all free agents. Jackson gives them speed outside to replace Stallworth. I believe Moss will be back.

    29. San Francisco.... Needs WR, DL, OLB
    Pick: Mario Manningham, WR, UM

SF has no offensive threats other than Frank Gore so Manningham will immediately bring a vertical passing threat to the Bay Area.

    30. Green Bay.... Needs: CB, S, LB
    Pick: Fred Davis, TE, USC

Bubba Franks is old and is not good anymore and Davis will be the blanket for Favre now and Aaron Rodgers in the future.

    31. New England...... Needs: LB, CB, OT
    Pick: Forfeited

    32. New York Giants...... Needs: OLB, CB, S
    Pick: Aquib Talib, CB, Kansas

Talib disappointed at the combine but nevertheless has the skills to be successful and the Giants need a big CB to help their pass defense.

First Round Talent: Devin Thomas, Dan Conner, Early Doucet, Tracy Porter, Chad Henne, Joe Flacco, Felix Jones, James Hardy, Sam Baker, Pat Sims,

Thanks to BoneKrusher for this amazing sig!

    Go Gators/Pats/Celts/Red Sox!

Good Bills pick. Malcolm Kelly is also a good option there.

TE isn't a 1st round need for Green Bay. We cut Franks but resigned Donald Lee this season, who was our starter anyway.

Why would the Chargers draft an OLB in the first when they have Merriman and Phillips?

I don't know how you have Mendenhall dropping all the way to 25...as of right now, I would think if the Bears take a RB they will take him over Stewart if both are on the board

Connor and Talib would be better for the Patriots, but that's not bad

AMAZING Phins pick! Now give us Devin Thomas at the top of Round 2 and call it a day!

Dolphins Dream Draft: 1. Jaylon Smith 2. Artie Burns 3. Landon Turner

Denver could definitely use the OL help, but I don't see why they would value Otah over Williams.

bears def. won't take j-stew if mendenhall is on the board, local product who was recruited by our OC. and i doubt either are taken b4 Chris Williams. you kinda contradicted yourself. you say our biggest needs are QB, OT(should be 1st), OG(shouldn't be here at all) yet you have us take a RB

Chris Long would have to get caught sodomizing a chicken to fall that far. Just saying.
