  • My Alt Three Round Draft

THis is my alternate version, as in alternater reality. I have said before, and I firmly believe that neither QB gets drafted in the top five slots. No need to risk that much guaranteed money on a rookie QB, since next year there will probably be no more of these inflated first round rookie contracts.

That being said, others don't believe as firmly as I do that they will both fall, and that is what makes this country great. the fact that we can respect the fact that we disagree. but i digress. Here is how I think the draft will fall if indeed Bradford went #1 overall.

Jonathan Dwyer is round 3 to the Rams

    No, give us Hernandez

    • #3
Give us Cox with the first 3rd and you would probably have a perfect raiders draft

EDIT: We traded our first 3rd for Kamerion Wimbley

Earl Thomas will not be the pick in round one. The Patriots have a stud safety in Brandon Meriweather and they just used their top pick in last year's draft on Patrick Chung, who I'm assuming they see as a future starter in the other safety spot. They also got some decent play out of Brandon McGowan and James Sanders signed a three-year deal last year. Safety is the deepest spot on the roster. I'm not one to advocate Jared Odrick but in that situation I think he'd probably be the pick, although if those were the guys on the board at #22, New England would pretty much be forced to make an average pick.

I like Gronkowski in the second round, but I'm not a fan of the other two picks. I'd prefer Ricky Sapp over Daryl Washington strictly from a value perspective, and because I think outside linebacker is a bigger need than inside. They might opt for someone a little bigger than Sapp but I'm really hoping they grab some pass rushers in this draft. Gilyard, I don't see there. I just think he might be a little bit of a reach for the Patriots. Their need for a wide receiver is a little overblown. They might be spread a little thin until Welker returns but I think they can make it work with Moss, Edelman, and Tate. A cornerback might be a good pick there, or one of the running backs that fell maybe.

A+ Lions draft. I'm a big fan of Suh, McCourty, and Gerhart.

I highly doubt the Niners would take two receivers in the first three rounds. It's just not that much of a need. One makes sense if he can stretch the field/help out as a returner.

Vikes drafting Best in the first is kind of weird though.

Jared Odrick over Brian Price is a fail to me.

Kindle and Thomas are good. Jones doesn't really make sense though as we have 3 starting caliber 3-4 DEs already.

i'm not a bif gan of that Bucs draft...

                      McCoy is always good

Wooten is more of a LE for me, we draftet ojur LE last year in the forth round. We have to see what Kyle Moore can do befoer drafting another one.
                      Give us Benn instead.

No need for LaFell with Benn draftet (i'm also noit a really big fan of LaFell)
                      Give us Kareem Jackson intead.

We have no need for a mid round RB. We have 3 of those guys on our roster.
Im a huge fan of Jason Worilds. i would take him in the third

An infinitely better Colts mock, using players you have available at their picks:

                            31) OT Bruce Campbell
                            63) S Morgan Burnett
                            94) OG/OT John Jerry

Ideally there'd be a better selection of DEs available at one of these 3 picks.

The problem arises when people use statistics like a drunk uses a lamp post: for support instead of illumination.

If luck is where preparation meets opportunity, then clutch is where failure meets luck.

                              41) Buffalo Bills Koa Misi, DE/OLB Utah
                              50) Kansas City Chiefs Bruce Campbell, OT Maryland

Not bad with the way it is for the Bills; Davis, Misi, and Thomas would fill holes, Misi is a bit of a reach IMO, but has talent worthy of the pick, and Thomas has third round value IMO, so it is not bad.
I would prefer Clausen in the first, Veldheer, Staffold, or Campbell (probably in that order) at left tackle (yes IMO Staffold could play LT) in the second, and then go with with Thomas or Decker as a #2 reciever/Andre Roberts-Dexter McCluster as a slot reciever in the third. That would be a better Bills mock IMO...
