  • Three Round Pre-Combine Mock

Just thought I would do a quick mock before the combine. Three rounds without explanations. But I will give an explanation for Moch being in round one; every year a guy jumps a few rounds after blowing up at the combine. I think that guy will be Moch. That is why I have put him in the first round of my last couple of mocks. If he doesn't work out like many think he will, I'll drop him to late 2nd-early 3rd. I don't predict trades, so some guys, especially Watt feel further than I think they will on draft day. As always, comments and feedback are greatly appreciated.

Well, I gave you Houston in round two, although in reality you'd probably have to trade up to get him.

I like a lot of guys at #7 for the Niners, but none more than Patrick Peterson - I even have him as the #1 prospect period.

How do you see him falling to #9?

I don't really see him falling to number 9. He could go second to Denver or fifth to Arizona. I thought about putting him at seven, but I value pass rushers a little more than corners. I don't predict trades, but if he falls past Arizona, teams like San Francisco, Dallas, Detroit, and Jacksonville will be on the phones right away trying to swing a trade.

Aldon Smith would be awesome in New England. I guess it's a toss up as to whether they'd take him or someone like Cameron Heyward or Cameron Jordan but I'd be ecstatic. Torrey Smith...not so much. The Patriots generally target sure-handed wideouts who are quick out of breaks and run excellent routes. Torrey is quick but not polished at all, and New England doesn't like to take big risks early on in the draft usually. I doubt he's left at #28 but J.J. Watt would be a terrific value. Wisniewski is a good pick. Drake Nevis doesn't fit at all, he's a 4-3 defensive tackle. Muhammad Wilkerson, Danny Watkins, or Mike Pouncey would be great there. Herzlich is someone who is a fit but projects as a 3-4 ILB, where the Patriots already have Mayo and Spikes, so don't look for them to draft him. Clint Boling or Ahmad Black would be good there. I like the Gilbert pick.

Love the Vikings beefing up their lines in this mock.

This is a sweet Vikings mock. That is a lot of weight we would have just added.

Swap Solder for Wisniewski and I'd be happy.

Bad Bad Bad Rams draft. Balwin is a reach in the middle of the first. Safety isn't a top 3 round need for the team. And the main need is RG on the OL, Ziemba doesn't fit that IMO. Give me Stephen Paea, Bruce Carter, and Edmund Gates.
                        I'm doing a real job now...well, semi-real.

Loved Peterson in the 1st but drafting both Moore and Dowling in the next 2 rounds is overkill. Give us Ijalana or Cannon in the 2nd and I can live with Dowling in the 3rd.
                          Cowboys Mock:
                          1. Myles Jack | LB | UCLA
                          2. Vernon Butler | DT | LA Tech
                          3. Karl Joseph | SS | WVU

Could not have dreamed up a more perfect Miami draft. That deserves some + rep my friend!

Dolphins Dream Draft: 1. Jaylon Smith 2. Artie Burns 3. Landon Turner

I honestly do not care whether or not Moch moves up. What I do care about is the fact that you have the Saints taking him. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! Not in the first round, at least. First, the Saints just do not privilege linebackers in that sort of way. Second, MARK INGRAM and JJ WATT are still on the board. Watt's a better fit in a 3-4 defense but would still be considered by the Saints as a better player than Moch. Ingram would also be identified as a better player than Moch. The Saints go BPA. That's been there draft strategy under Loomis and Payton and I do not see it changing. Because Watt is more of a 3-4 end, I think the Saints would take Ingram first with Watt being the second choice. But either way, I definitely think they would not consider Moch here.

Give us Mark Ingram in round 1, Muhammad Wilkerson in round 2, I am cool with Greg Romeus with the first third but would prefer Kelvin Sheppard with the second third. I like Fua but Wilkerson would make Fua unnecessary.
