  • Bearfan's Mock

Not much of a college football fan, but I do read up and have basic Idea of where everyone will/should fall. C and C is welcome, I may do a 2nd round.

    1. Oakland Raiders: JaMarcus Russell
While some may say Johnson here, I believe that you need a Qb in order to throw to some recievers

    2. Detriot Lions: Brady Quinn
Could have gone Adams here, but Kitna is a stop-gap solution, and McCown I cant imagine will be around much longer. BQ brings the ability to start right away, and is the most NFL Ready QB in the draft.

    3. Cleveland Browns: Adrian Peterson
Jamal Lewis is not the answer, and was only signed to a 1yr deal. AD will be a stud, and will give Charlie a extra weapon to use.

    4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Calvin Johnson
The best prospect in the draft falls to #4. Galloway is getting up there in age, and Clayton hasnt be able to put anything together since his rookie season. Johnson will be an immediate starter, and give the weapon to whichever QB is there. *Also considered Adams

    5. Arizona Cardinals: Joe Thomas
Beginning of a foundation for the lack luster O-Line of the Cards should begin with Thomas.Obvious need, and a great player to fill that need

    6. Washington Redskins: Gaines Adams
Need DE, Adams is the best in the draft

    7. Minnesota Vikings: Jamal Anderson
While I am suspect about this pick, I think Anderson provides the most Value here. I think that James will develop into a fine DE, but Udezi I am not so sure about.

    8. Atlanta Falcons (via HOU): Laron Landry
Milloy and Landry would be sick. Or when Milloy retires, Landry will be ready to take over. Win Win situation

    9. Miami Dolphins: Alan Branch
Not sure how well you'll all react to this pick, but the DTs are getting up there in age, and last I checked the 3-4 is still being played. Either way, Branch has the experience to play 4-3 or 3-4.

    10. Houston Texans (via ATL): Levi Brown
Like the Cards, Texans havent had the best OL. Time for an upgrade

    11. San Francisco 49ers: Amobi Okoye
Seeing this need, Amobi Okoye is a good pick here. Not sure how well he will fit the 3-4, but either way he has time to learn.

    12. Buffalo Bills: Patrick Willis
From what I hear, this guy is a beast. The Bills need a beast in the LB corp.

    13. St. Louis Rams: Leon Hall
Leon Hall will provide the #2 CB spot to be filled. Tye Hill and Leon Hall would be a sweet dou, and shortly would become a very good one at that.

    14. Carolina Panthers: Reggie Nelson
Big need, and Nelson would be able to step in and make plays for them right away.

    15. Pittsburg Steelers: Darrelle Revis
After Ike Taylor's dropoff, some depth, and potential starter is needed.

    16. Greenbay Packers: Marshawn Lynch
As much as I hate to say it, Lynch will be a beast in the NFL on my least favorite team. I remember watching him as a freshman, and he was phenomenal.

    17. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: Jarvis Moss
Maybe not the popular pick, but DE is a realistic need, and Moss has potential to be real good IMO.

    18. CINCINNATI BENGALS: Lawrence Timmons
Its a need. Beason could be other choice

    19. TENNESSEE TITANS: Dwayne Bowe
This is what I think is best for VY. A guy who can make the catch, anywhere on the field. Sorta like a Hines Ward, and I think right now for VY, thats more important than a guy who played 1 good year, or a guy who is a boom or bust in the NFL

    20. New York Giants: Jon Beason
With the need there, after cutting Arrington, Beason would be a good fit in NY

    21. Denver Broncos: Joe Staley
I dont know how well Staley would be in the ZBS, but after ridding themselves of Foster OT is a need.

    22. Dallas Cowboys: Chris Houston
Not really sure what to take here, I considered WR, but Crayton is a great 3rd reciever right now, and another shouldnt be needed until Glenn and or Owens retires. On another note, CB is suspect, Henry didnt proform that great, and houston has some good potential.

    23. Kansas City Chiefs: Robert Meachem
No longer lacks a good WR. Should start instantly

    24. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: Paul Posluszny
Agree with Scott on this one, Pos could probably play inside or out, and a good young LB is what they need to an aging LB corp.

    25. New York Jets: Adam Carriker
Maybe not a huge need, but Carriker is to good to pass up here.

    26. Philidelphia Eagles: Micheal Griffen
With Lewis's departure, it leaves no real starting Safty to replace him. Griffen is a playmaker that will be a stud in the NFL.

    27. New Orleans Saints: Greg Olson
Lacking at the position, the Saints land yet another offensive weaopn to their arsenal.

    28. NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS (via SEA): Brandon Meriweather
Had 1 incident, and gets “Character Issue’s”. Harrison’s career is almost up, and with the signing of all their WRS that’s not a big need. Could probably play some CB as well.

    29. Baltimore Ravens: Justin Blalock
With all the 1st round OLBs and ILBs gone, Blalock would provide the best talent for the Ravens here.

    30. San Diego Chargers: Ted Ginn
I would say Jarrett, but Ginn provides the most potential. They took a shot on Cromatrie last year, and Ginn has the potential to be the next Steve Smith.

    31. Chicago Bears: Dwayne Jarrett
With Moose getting older, and the inability for Berrian and Bradley to stay healthy, Jarrett provides probably the best hands on the team.

    32. Indianapolis Colts: Justin Harrell
DT is a need, and they take the best available DT on the board

    Round 2

    33. OAKLAND RAIDERS: Ryan Kalil

    34. Detroit Lions: Marcus McCauley

    35. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS: Charles Johnson

    36. CLEVELAND BROWNS: Aaron Ross

    37. Chicago Bears (Via NYJ): Ben Grubbs

    38. Arizona Cardinals: Justin Durant

    39. ATLANTA FALCONS (f/HOU):Tim Crowder

    40. MIAMI DOLPHINS: Sidney Rice

    41. MINNESOTA VIKINGS: Anthony Gonzalez

    42. SAN FRANCISCO 49'ERS: Craig Davis

    43. Buffalo Bills: Antonio Pittman

    44. Atlanta Falcons: Aaron Sears

    45. CAROLINA PANTHERS: Zach Miller

    46. PITTSBURGH STEELERS: Anthony Spencer

    47. Green Bay Packers: Jason Hill

    48. JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS: Eric Weddel

    49. CINCINNATI BENGALS: Quinn Pitcock

    50. TENNESSEE TITANS: Kenny Irons

    51. NEW YORK GIANTS: Josh Wilson

    52. ST. LOUIS RAMS: Ray McDonald

    53. Dallas Cowboys: Tony Ugoh

    54. Kansas City Chiefs: Eric Wright

    55. SEATTLE SEAHAWKS: Manuel Ramirez

    56. DENVER BRONCOS: Victor Abiamiri

    57. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES: Micheal Bush?
-not sure if this is to high

    58. NEW ORLEANS SAINTS: Tanard Jackson

    59. NEW YORK JETS: Ikaika Alama-Francis

    60. MIAMI DOLPHINS (f/NE): Daymieon Hughes

    61. Baltimore Ravens: Buster Davis

    62. SAN DIEGO CHARGERS: Aaron Rouse

    63. NEW YORK JETS (F/CHI): Lamar Woodley

    64. TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (f/IND): Quentin Moses

      9. Miami Dolphins: Alan Branch

Hmmm evans is 22 years old
He is not a very good 3-4 NT either realy. It is a possibility. But really makes more sense for us to trade back. I would take Okoye over Branch as well personally. Higher potential abilities. I think miami's best bet is to drop back for more picks as there is good value on the board but it doesnt fit our needs really :(

Its hard to call the top 5 picks since so much rides on what Oakland decides, so I cant fault you on the Lions pick. I would take BQ over JR, however, I would go defensive first.
