I doubt anyone would give up one first rounder for him.

The problem arises when people use statistics like a drunk uses a lamp post: for support instead of illumination.

If luck is where preparation meets opportunity, then clutch is where failure meets luck.

Just when I thought the Lions made a good move... They screw it up.

We'll give you Marcus Spears. Deal?

They needed to make this move. I think Redding would be amenable to staying, but he needs to know they are headed in the right direction.

Are you sure its has to be 2 first for Redding? I would give up #32 straight up for Redding. He'd be perfect for the Colts @ DT.

It's 2 1st rounders or other compensation that the team agrees to. Redding can be traded for anything the Lions will take.

That's what I'm getting at. If Redding chooses to holdout, the Lions can accept less to get red of him (and get what they can). I think #32 for Redding is a good trade, but the Colts probably won't trade away their top pick since they build through the draft. Redding was awesome @ DT last year, and if he had Freeney & Mathis outside him, he might continue to produce the same way. The Colts need another quality DT, and Redding would probably be a better investment than what Corey Simon was.
