With recent developments I don't think the Patriots have any room to be griping about being ripped off. How about talking to the 31 other teams the Patriots have played since Belichick got there. You know what is also against the rules, taping other teams.

The part where Jacobs gets the first on 4th and 1 the Giants would not have moved at the same pace if the clock were running.

When Manning gets tackled from behind by Thomas he was clearly down when his knees hit. The Patriots continue to try to get the "fumble" and burns time, the play would have been reviewed from upstairs with more time put on the clock if the ref had not stopped it on the field. The clock is stopped because the Patriots won't get off him.

Do you have any idea how many seconds are screwed up over the course of a football game? Watch for it throughout the game and you will see many errors.

How about looking at the Rams and Patriots Superbowl. In addition to the recent taping news, the Patriots used their policy of raping receivers and inexplicably not getting penalized for it. Colts fans know all about this policy, in fact illegal contact was made a point of emphasis because the refs refused to call it against the Patriots in the playoffs. You know what, as a Rams fan I also have a complaint about the clock in the Superbowl. How about the 2 seconds they just let run off the clock after Vinatieri made the FG. For all we know the Rams would have returned the kickoff for a TD in the most amazing finish in Superbowl history. Sure its far fetched, but they were still ripped off of 2 seconds. Here is a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEvCrRi1-Fc
I remember that! Lol, I was cheering for the Rams that time, and I was soooo pissed when they ran that off the clock.

how did they lose 50 seconds? did Eli Manning forget how to spike a ball? they lost 10 seconds at most. leaving 25 on the clock instead of 35.

But you're forgetting that the Giants wouldn't have spiked the ball and just let time run out on them. Only the all-mighty Patriots have figured out the art of the spiked ball.

I am done arguing, until somebody says something stupid.

this is dumb...patriots lost get over it...some people still havent accepted it.

errors like this will always occur so long as there is so measure of humans involved in the game. people make mistakes, simple as that its just something that is in every game, not just the super bowl.

The pats cant complain about any calls, or screw ups that DIDNT go in their faavor, they got every break known to mankind in the Ravens game, and every single lucky bounce/call possible, at some point they had to have it go against them...The guy is right the time was off, but regardless, Pats have been on both sides of that fence so they cant complain now that the shoe is on the other foot

                  i don't think it's that bad.
the pats loved to sit on every downed ballcarrier during a pile up for a good 10 seconds longer than was absolutely necessary to try to toy with mannings/coughlins desire to keep the playclock near five in the first half. hence, not allowing everyone to get back to the huddle in a reasonable fashion.

i mean, there were actual clock issues. if you go through the SB thread. i remember yelling out during the last drives, something like, wtf. the clock lost 10 seconds in double time. and then it got reset after a minute real time went by (because, said pileup).

Someone started a petition to get the league to investigate this. These people did not realize the inherent flaw in their theory, however, which is why it is irrelevant, that being (as quote from the petition):

                    1. The stadium game clock is official. In case it stops or is operating incorrectly, the Line Judge takes over the official timing on the field.
The authority and measures provided for in this section (UNFAIR ACTS) do not constitute a protest machinery for NFL clubs to dispute the result of a game. The Commissioner will conduct an investigation under this section only to review an act or occurrence that he deems so unfair that the result of the game in question may be inequitable to one of the participating teams. The Commissioner will not apply his authority under this section when a club registers a complaint concerning judgmental errors or routine errors of omission by game officials. Games involving such complaints will continue to stand as completed.
If the stadium clock wasn't working, and the Line Judge didn't run time off, it's an error on his part, and hence falls into the unchallengable category. Sorry Pats fans, you lose yet again.

The problem arises when people use statistics like a drunk uses a lamp post: for support instead of illumination.

If luck is where preparation meets opportunity, then clutch is where failure meets luck.

I actually had a bad feeling the NFL would do what they could for the Pats to be 19-0. And the fact that Hixon almost had his head ripped off on a blatant 15 yard facemask on the opening kickoff which wasn't called certainly did set the tone on a negative note for me. However I think the game was called pretty fairly. Although right now I can't see the video in question at work. At what point in the game did this come in?

If the Patriots want to complain about how much time was left on the clock, they should complain about the two incomplete passes on first and second down with goal to go from the six. Should have been: run, run, pass.

Could have killed down past two minutes there, or at least made the Giants burn a time out or two...

They have no one to blame but themselves.

Its the last two minutes of the game. If you're asking when the errors were made.
