I think the Giants have a good thing going on. By having two players that are part-time long-snappers in DeOssie and Alford they wouldn't be screwed if one of them got injured on defense. That would only work though if you have two guys that can snap, and not just one. 'Cause if you just got one you risk getting him injured on offense/defense and will be in trouble on special teams.

It is not as good as it seems, as I don't think DeOssie isn't nearly as good on snapping for field goals. There is a reason Alford handles those snaps and DeOssie only does punts.

Ok. I though both of them could to both punts and field-goals if needed, but if DeOssie only is able to handle the punts I agree that the situation ain't as good as I though. The best thing would have been to have two part-time snappers that could to both or the usual scenario with one pure long-snapper.

It is risk reward as if your long snapper is playing else where, there is always an injury risk in the middle of a game.
The thing about Neill though, is that he's not too good at DE either.
I think he's only played 1 snap there, this year.

But for everyone reading this in Buffalo and Cleveland and everywhere else, take solace in the following: As crazy as it sounds, you're lucky. Your Mount Everest experience is still ahead of you. It's waiting, and it's glorious.- Bill Simmons

At the very least he provides depth.
