psst Lance Briggs, come play cheap along your old college roommate in Pierce! I'd love to see him in big blue, but I highly doubt it happens...

Bears | Briggs re-signs with team
        Sat, 1 Mar 2008 18:25:44 -0800

Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports the Chicago Bears have re-signed free-agent LB Lance Briggs (Bears) to a six-year contract worth $36 million.

I guess they showed him the money.

Yep. Saints dropped the ball again. We like to settle for 3rd and 4th tier free agents.

I was expecting for him to sign a much larger contract

Bears re-signed Lance Briggs to a six-year, $36 million contract.

Sometimes free agency isn't all you hoped for. After holding out and chafing last summer at Chicago's use of the franchise tag, Briggs didn't get a sniff from another team on the open market. His pricetag and fears that Briggs is a product of Love Smith's system scared teams off. Briggs' tackle numbers should stay sky high in the Windy City.

According to rotoworld thats why he didnt get the money he wanted.

Awesome... The Saints bungle FA yet again. We trade for Vilma, re-sign some ****** players, and call it a day.

We may have offered a lot more money for Briggs but he didn't want to play for the Saints.

I doubt it. Apparently no other team was interested, and I think New Orleans is more attractive than Chicago. Warmer and better team potential.

well, Lance has said he likes Chicago several times. Also, it seemed like the only place he really wanted to go to was San Fran.
