LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP)—The Chicago Bears have moved offensive tackle John Tait from their active roster to the reserve/retired list.

He was the 14th pick overall in the 1999 draft by the Kansas City Chiefs.

I didn't know that he was about to retire.

I'm kind of surprised. He was pretty good.

You've never heard of John Tait before?

He was a top 15 overall pick and really good OL over the years. Went to a few pro bowls.

His play dropped off last year due to a nagging ankle/lower leg injury over the years.

Tait had a really good career, though.

I've heard of him, he's just not really elite. That's all.

He may not be elite, but he is better than just solid.
