  • Pick the winners & award winners

Draft is over & the coaching changes are settled, most of the FAs who were moving have already moved, same with the trades.

So who's going to the playoffs, win their conferences & the SB? And who are the MVPs? And the 2010 top 5 draft order, it's never too early for that....

    I'll start it off:

NFC -- division winners: NY Giants, Chicago, Atlanta Falcons, Zona Cardinals
    WC playoff teams: Carolina, Eagles

    NFC Champion - Atlanta Falcons

AFC -- division winners: NE Patriots, Ravens, Indy Colts, SD Chargers
WC playoff teams: Steelers, Tennessee Titans

    AFC Champion - Ravens

    SB Champion -- Ravens

Offensive MVP - Matt Ryan, QB, Falcons
Defensive MVP - Ed Reed, S, Ravens
Offensive Rookie ot Yr - Mark Sanchez, QB, NY Jets
Defensive Rookie ot Yr - Jarron Gilbert, DE, Chicago Bears
Comeback PotYr - Tom Brady, QB, NE Patriots

2010 Top 5 Draft Order with W-L rcds, comments optional:

    1) Denver Broncos, 2-14 -- Preseason turmoil creates locker room anarchy
    2) Detroit Lions, 3-13 -- Still 300% better than 08
    3) Cleveland Browns, 4-12 -- Mangini trashes his 2nd NFL team with awful talent quality control & too many trades
    4) Cincy Bengals, 4-12 -- They're still the Bungles
    5) Oakland Raiders, 5-11 -- Cable gets fired, 4 HCs in 6 yrs, it's a Raider tradition

    Your turn......

I can't imagine Atlanta winning the NFC, too hard for them to get past either the Giants or Eagles. Too much pass rush for Ryan, and their defense would have too much difficulty stopping those power running games, nevermind the more experienced quarterbacks.

You never know though, who could have imagined the Falcons in the playoffs this time last year.

                NFC West - Arizona Cardinals
Looks like a division that won't be as much as a cake walk for Arizona this year because I do like the Niners to make some noise. The Rams need to rebuild and the Seahawks could hang out around 6-10 at best.

NFC North - Green Bay Packers
This is somewhat of a homer pick but I made up with by including the Bears as a wildcard. I think Cutler adds that much to that team. As for the Packers winning the division, I think we have it. Barely though. I love what we did this offseason and with a year under Aaron's belt we should be leaps and bounds better.

                NFC South - Carolina Panthers
This was tough. I wanted to go with the Falcons but couldn't find it in me. The Panthers have too good of a balanced team barring a Jake Delhomme implosion. Every year I want to pick the Saints but I just know not to. No exception this year.

NFC East - New York Giants
Toughest division in football. The loss of Plax didn't seem to be a huge deal as they patched his spot up really quick via draft. The Cowboys could be as good as the Eagles who I have as a wildcard but they'll find a way out of the playoffs.

NFC Wildcards - Philadelphia Eagles & Chicago Bears

AFC West - San Diego Chargers
Sloppy division. Cutler is gone, Broncos don't have an offense that can go into a shootout therefore the Chargers win by default. Chiefs are still young and probably 2 years away.

                AFC North - Pittsburgh Steelers
The defending champion Steelers win the division. Gotta love their defense. The Ravens need to find a way for Flacco to throw around the field effectively and I don't mean just to Mason. Browns are bleh. Bengals could surprise, but not playoff surprise.

                AFC South - Indianapolis Colts
Jaguars? No. Texans? Watch out. Titans? Drop off.

AFC East - New England Patriots
Bills are still the Bills with T.O. or not. Look for the hot start and fizzle away. Jets making it with Sanchez in this division the first year is unlikely and the Dolphins won't shock anyone this year.

AFC Wildcards - Miami Dolphins & Baltimore Ravens

Offensive MVP - Is there any question a healthy Brady won't win?
                Defensive MVP - Demarcus Ware
                OROY - Percy Harvin.
                DROY - Everette Brown.

My offensive ROTY pick will probably be Knowshon Moreno, new RB of the Denver Broncos. Maybe a bit too easy a pick, but he's the star of that offense and will be great there for the next number of years.

I'll have to think about the playoff teams. As for awards:
                            MVP- Drew Brees
                            OROY- Beanie Wells
DROY- James Laurinaitus........a little homer, but I say to you, whateva whateva I do wha I whan

I am done arguing, until somebody says something stupid.
