Fact is, even no bodies get upwards of a million dollars most year in the NFL, if you cannot plan your life properly and accordingly look after your money, with all the services agencies and teams now provide it's your own fault.

Stop with the "millionaires can't feed their family" crap.
Um, what? Not even current "no bodies" get a mill a year. 1/2 mill, maybe. And the guys out of the league for a decade or two are realizing they can be pretty messed up physically from years of abuse.

It's not like they're talking about paying for a doctor office call fee. It's chronic problems that require intensive treatments and surgeries. That adds up fast.

I agree with this. I don't understand how you can make all that money and not have anything to show for it. I mean open some businesses or invest in something. There are a million ways to secure your future when you have access to all that money. Dumb ass people spend it all on dumb **** and end up broke.

We as Ravens fans are clearly scum of the earth, and should just be happy that these great people, who cheer for nothing than the finest, morally impeccable players, playing on the finest, most morally impeccable teams, will grace us with their presence, and words of wisdom.

I think you guys are both confused about the Gridiron Greats organization and the players they represent. Read up a bit - http://www.gridirongreats.org/

The players that are the biggest concern are the older generation of players - hence the name "Gridiron Greats." They are primarily working for health care and benefits for players from the Ditka/Sayers generation. These are guys who built the reputation of the game back in the day when athlete's weren't paid absurd amounts of money. Hell, Ditka and Sayers were higher paid guys who made a whopping $50,000 per year - if that. It's not always about squandering away money. Try paying for a knee or hip replacement when you have no earning power b/c you can barely walk.

Yea I was just going off what Blind said. He was talking about people within the past 20 years or so.

I understand the NFL cracking down in this situation. But the way they smack down anyone who dares have fun after scoring a TD is beyond stupid and really arbitrary. An undrafted rookie CB on the Colts Jacob Lacey got a pick 6 and, once he crossed the goal line, did a baseball slide, stood up, and made the "safe" motion. 15 yard penalty and a $10k fine. But a rich vet like Donald Driver can do dozens of Lambeau Leaps throughout his career and not get a single penalty or fine.

What about Larry Johnson's old hand signal for vagina?

                      Surely he was promoting vagina.

Celebration penalties are just absurd, you normally get 4 or 5 TDs a game, let the players have some fun, obviously there are limits(I don't think product endorsement or props should be allowed) but the ball is fair game for me and genuinely let the guys have some fun.

The NBA did this whole sanitise the game thing and look where it is at right now, they had a good 10 years of the product going backwards which all began right around the time they started to take away the fun the players could have and stripped them of their personalities. NFL is on a slippery slope towards that.

Props to BK on the sig!

Darrell Green always pulled out a tootsie roll after he scored a touchdown.
