Im very happy about this signing. I was hoping all along we'd get him. A FB who is a good lead blocker but also an offensive weapon, major upgrade over Crockett, who I suspect will now get cut unless we want to keep him as a short yardage specialist. With Jordan, Rhodes, Fargas and Griffith I suddenly feel pretty good about our backfield. No one great but a nice group of players and thats worked for other teams. Now if we can just get them some blocking.....

You guys should draft OL in the first 5 rounds. Starting off with Joe Thomas.

Haha...the one player the Packers thought they were going to get.

This is the first good FB the Raiders have had in a while. He will certainly help the offense.

Seems like a relatively cheap contract for a pretty good fullback, considering Mughelli got the biggest contract ever by a fullback last week . . .

His agent must not be very good because that contract is awfully low for one of the best fullbacks in the league. He's the first guy to get underpaid this offseason IMO.

I think some of you are overrating Griffith a bit. Here is why; he was pulled on short yardage situations for Fred McCrary. As an inline blocker he just isn't that good. He makes up for it in his versatility. His assignment was not blowing up Linebackers up front, rather taking on Safeties and Corners in space. He's a nice signing, especially since Knapp will utilize him correctly. If you expect him to plow through the middle, this isn't your guy.

This is good news to Raider fans. A solid RB tandem with solid fullback tandem .. plus a veteran on the O line. Maybe Al has really seen the light :-)

I didn't even know he was a FA. Danm I would loved if the Boys got him. Good pick up.

Wow....after the contract the Falcons gave to that dude from the Ravens, iw as expecting Griffith to get a monster deal. 3 years 3.8 million, that's the same contract Mack Strong got last offseason...amazing.

Actually Shiver in a lot of short yardage he was the RB and McCrary was the FB so he was in the game. The problem is Knapp likes to call passes in short yardage for some reason.
