    I really doubt that many teams are going to willfully apply the transition tag without some additional assurances from the league that they are protected from "poison pill" clauses. A few might get used on some lesser players, but that's about it.

      I think he means how they group outside linebackers with inside and offensive tackles with centers. Since between schemes theres are 4 different linebacker positions and, if you put left tackle on a different level than right tackle, four significantly line positions as well.

        Bingo, what he said ^^^.

        I think its silly that if you want to franchise a center you have to pay him the average of the top 5 LT's.... that makes no sense to me.

                                Green Bay Packers placed their franchise tag on DT Ryan Pickett. The DT franchise tag is $7 million. Pickett not going anywhere.
