This prediction is probably exclusively the result of me having to many packers fans as friends, but the Giants will have a better year than the Packers this year, they may get more regular season wins, but barring ridiculous injuries we'll go further in the playoffs.

Unless Matt Ryan develops some consistency it will be tough to beat the Saints in the division though.

I wouldn't worry about our running game. There's really no reason for it not to be as solid as it was last year (14th in yards, 11th in yards per carry), unless it's simply because we throw the ball more. If something is going to hold us back this year, it'll probably be the pass defense, but I think we'll be better equipped this year than we were for the terrible performances we had last year.

People really overrated how much of a difference playing in a dome makes over the course of one's career, or even a season. All the greatest statistical QBs played outside and a lot of them played in cold weather environments. Peyton played poorly in New England because Belichick has always had Peyton's number and because the Patriots DBs used to get away with murder. But lets not turn this into another Manning v. Brady thread, we have had enough of those.

Getting Harris back will be a big part of it. Even if he's not playing at the same level that he was a year ago, he should still be our #2 corner. Harris will probably miss week one, and there's a chance he starts the season on the PUP, but the good news is that after Philly, we should have an easy five games before he gets back for Minnesota, NYJ, Dallas, etc.

After Woodson, Trammon, and Harris we have Underwood (who should be better than he was as a rookie a year ago) and Lee (was hurt last year, has been so-so in training camp). It looks like Jarrett Bush, who was playing nickelback by the end of the season, won't be one of the six corners to make the team. It's not great depth, but it should be much better than the guys we had getting torn apart against Pittsburgh and Arizona.

While we don't really know how he'll perform, I also think Burnett will do a better job in coverage, even in his rookie year, than Bigby. He should also be more reliable in terms of injury.

I'm gonna give the edge to Peyton in that one. Although I do agree that Tom Brady is the superior qb.

In '04 the Colts absolutely murdered the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving 41-9. Peyton threw 6 touchdowns in that game. They beat the Texans 49-14, Peyton had five touchdowns. They beat the Bears 41-10 and Peyton had four touchdowns. People did complain, like they did with NE.

The whole running up the score "controversy" was ******** I thought. You don't pull your starters at half in the NFL, even after three quarters. This is professional ******* football. If they didn't like it, they would man up and play some defense, hit somebody in the mouth.

Who is your "we'll"? I see a dancer in your avatar and a German Soccer player in your signature. Germany had a nice run at the World Cup, but failed to win.

As do I, picking them to win that division over Dallas.
They swept Dallas last year and I like their chances this season. Defense needs to hold up, and Jacobs has to stay healthy though.

Shiver, am I missing your predictions here somewhere?

Everybody picking the pack to the SB & winning is making me laugh. Just like last year people are over reacting to the pre-season champs. Not trying to suggest they won't be a good team, but once again they are recieving wayyy to much hype.

Al Harris is a soon to be 36 year old cornerback coming off a Torn ACL. That isn't a good thing, I highly doubt he plays at a quality level this year.

I picked the Packers last year too, so I'm not overreacting to the preseason lol

I am head over heels for Aaron Rodgers though, but like I said earlier, I don't think they will repeat the +24 turnover ratio and the running game concerns me, but they are a dangerous team that can beat anyone.

Pretty much this. They could pretty easily win the division I think that's a tossup , but the love is getting ridiculous. Other than Charles Woodson I'm not sold on their secondary whatsoever I think Al Harris is the most overrated CB in the league. And people seem to be forgetting that the Packers offensive line was the worst in the league last year.

It wasn't the worst in the league... it was the unluckiest in the league though with Tauscher and Clifton missed a substantial amount of games last year, which shouldn't happen this year, but if it does, they are far better equipped having Bulaga there to be a swing tackle if they need him.
