It's way to early, at least wait till we're half way thru the season.
What you're talking about is not the same as Matthews. The Buccaneers haven't played quality teams, whereas the Packers played a good team in Philadelphia. Also, Matthews has two games against the Bears (who probably the NFL's worst offensive line).

Every year there is a guy (or two) that runs out in the first couple games of the season. Antwan Odom had 8, iirc, after 3 games last year. Matthews is looking great, but when you are doing sensationally well, teams finally just decide "screw that, this guy ain't beating us." If/when Clay gets that kind of attention, he will certainly hit a real dry streak. If he can continue to produce sacks at that point, then you'll have a true stud on your hands. Let's not be idiots about it.

Clay already is a true stud. He didn't start the first few games of last year, but since he has started(15 games, including the 2 from this year) he has 15 sacks in 15 games

The fact that he was put on IR after 6 games might have something to do with it.

Not that he had a chance anyway. After the 5 sack game against us he only had 1 in the next 4 games.

You're missing the point, son. He doesn't get the star treatment from other teams. As soon as they start gameplanning for him and gearing their blocking schemes to specifically stopping him, etc and he STILL produces that way, then you can start crowing about him being on that level. He looks great. He has a good chance to get there, but don't be premature about it.

He was are only real threat as a pass-rusher last year, I am sure he get's special treatment. I do agree that it is early to crown him, but as long as he is a disruptive force I will be happy.

If a player gets to double digits in six games or less it makes sense to talk about the record. We play the Bears and Lions the next two games, so he could get there in four.

As a superstitious Packer fan I hesitate to talk about this so early lest we jinx him in some way.

WTF are you talking about ?? All you have to do is take your stats from the first two games, then times it by 8, and it'll give you your stats for the whole season .... DUHH

He's already seeing double teams. Packers are moving him all over the field to confuse the offenses.

... obviously Clay Matthews is the best player in the NFL, nobody stops CLAY MATTHEWS III. Also the Clay Matthews get better each time, Clay III is better than Clay II and Clay II is better than Clay I, so imagine how beastly Clay IIII is going to be.
