  • How is this a bad deal for McNabb? He gets an extra 3.5 million for this year, and then next year gets to either be a free agent, or part of a huge contract.

    It's win win...

Because if the Redskins so decided, they could pull the contract out from under him well after free agency and the draft and then no team is going to be able to give him a huge deal. Major risk.

      • McNabb knows he's done as an NFL QB and wanted to grab as much cash as he could before he inevitably is cut before the 2011 season. Turns out $3.5 mill was all he could manage to squeeze out of Dan Snyder.

Just ask Favre how he gets 20 million for a year at the age of 42 from the Vikings, or how the Ravens paid out for a backup. A team will pay for McNabb

Completely different scenarios. The Vikings were the only team in the league that were gonna pay Favre that much money, because they're the only ones that needed him that bad. He knew the offense and he had already been there the previous year, so all he had to do was come back. And besides, Favre had arguably his best season ever last year with the Vikings. Nothing like McNabb.

but there reasons, which you stated, overcame the downs side. Fact that he wasn't as healthy as the past year, he was older, didn't get the 'it' with the offense during TC. McNabb for example, knows the Vikings offense and a team, like the Cards, Jags, etc.. will take a chance hoping he could get informed with the team during preseason and boost sales.

              • McNabb would be going back. I bet he signs in Arizona(although local sports radio here, says the organization is not as intrested as one might think with the garbage they have at qb).
