  • Richard Seymour fined $25K fir hitting Big Ben

This makes me mad on many different levels, I don't understand how the NFL has been fining people $50k for accidental hits to the head in the field of play but when Seymour throws a punch at a QB's jaw he gets less. He would have been fined more if he sacked Ben and went helmet to helmet with him. If I was the Pitt players I would be very upset. They think the NFL has it out for them because of being to vocal on the hits to the head. I don't blame them after this.

        Yeah, that seems light.

But comparatively, the helmet to helmet hits are dangerous, cause concussions or worse.

Hitting someone's facemask really won't hurt them... it might hurt the guy's hand though.

Too bad that was about the only fight the pathetic Raiders put up yesterday. I wanted an old-fashioned smashmouth close game between those teams, like in the 70's.

But they let the Steelers roll them, and their offense was pathetic. Nice work by the 2 Bay area offenses yesterday. Hard to believe the 49ers were actually worse than the Raiders yesterday offensively.

i got fined 300 for decking someone once....25k seems steep enough for palming someone in the face

i think pouncey should be fined too though, its only fair

he did afterall break seymours spirits and made him lose composure as a rookie

This. Harrisons started out getting fined 5k, it's the fact that he keeps offending that makes his fines so high. Seymour was fined 10k previously so his fine goes up to 25k now.

The league might also take into account that Seymour was ejected and missed half of game as part of his punishment (in regard to suspending him not the amount of his fine).

Seymour got a 10K fine last year for punching Jerome Harrison. I wonder how much James Harrison would have gotten if he did this.

I also wonder if Seymour punched Brady or Manning how they would handle this.

There's probably a few women out there that would pay 25k to sucker punch Ben. He should start a charity.

Come on that hit happened after the play. What happened to Fat AL when he stepped on someone?

Do you think they tried fining the college girl, too?

Big Sey was just doing his part for the sexual assault victims of the world. Way to go NFL.

Tip of the hat to Richard Seymour.

He did what the Georgia Court System could not.

hmmm.. goood point. So now teams or other players should give one of their very low depth chart players 25K, and then let him hit the qb as hard as he can open palm and try and knock him out of the game. Open palm bottom of the chin and push up...should do the trick. After the whistle of course.
