And backup offensive tackle Kevin Shaffer.

They might just be drafting some tackles, defensive & offensive, in the draft......

Send them to Seattle they'll take anyone.

Did the combine do anything for your QB dilemma there in San Fran?

For sure. Just tell them that they were Niners and they are as good as signed.

All the Gabbert fanboys shut the hell up & are on hold now b/c he didn't throw, very anticlimactic if you ask me.

Your boy Locker from U-Dub looked a lot better after his workout, no doubt about it. Impressive 40 time for a QB, threw well too.

How about that Bama QB McElroy's Wunderlic score, 48!! Whoo-hoo! Got wood on that one.

I think for the 9ers it comes down to whether Harbaugh has His Guy in the crosshairs .... or not. If it's Locker, he will be there. Maybe not Gabbert, if he has a killer pro day at Mizzou, Zona will snatch him up. The Cards are effing desperate. All I know it sure as hell isn't Cam Newton, better to be stuck with Alex Smith, the Human Turnover Machine, for another season.

Back to the thread: why TF did Chicago just release Harris? Did he really regress THAT much? Maybe so. He used to dominate entire games, never was the same after the leg surgery that kept him out of their SB appearance. Was Harris due a big roster lump sum of cash this May? Is Chicago cleaning house on a youth movement after re-upping their overrated HC with a fat new 2-yr extension?

Is that wunderlic score legit? I didnt think they produced smart guys at Bama.

I can kind of understand Harris, yet when he is himself (rare) he is dominant.

Hillenmeyer was a good back up wasn't he?

He was a good starter, but the concussion messed up his game.

Time flies, it seems like yesterday that Harris was destined to be one of the best in the game. It is crazy to think he and Merriman still are not even that old, both of their careers really did not turn out as we thought they would.

                        Yea.

I remember this crazy play by Harris versus the Chargers. He Timed the snap so well he knocked the ball and caused a fumble off the centers hand
Jets, Mets, Knicks, and the U's too cool for uze

Merriman was a druggie, so that one is pretty obvious. Tommie's career fell apart due to a lack of dedication and injuries.

I don't know if the drugs is the reason why Merriman's career is over. Let's be real, he's not the only one in the league that's on steroids/hgh.

I think a rash of knee injuries and his idiotic decision to play on that knee is what caused his demise. Did the roids cause that knee to go to the shitter? Probably. But he still could have recovered from it if he played his cards right.

But he didn't. I also think he just doesn't give a damn anymore.
