Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports the Washington Redskins have offered the No. 6 overall pick to the Chicago Bears for LB Lance Briggs and the No. 31 overall pick, according to agent Drew Rosenhaus.

    Wow....
There is no way the Redskins could be that stupid. There's only about a dozen players in the NFL even worth the 6th overall pick. He definitely isn't one of them.

Its a swap of first round picks, 6th for the 31st. That values Briggs around a mid first.

It's the 16th pick. And there are probably a dozen quarterbacks worth that.

**** people. Matt Schaub got the value of the 19th or 20th pick and he hasn't done a damn thing. This isn't that crazy. Some of you very much overvalue picks.

I know what your point is and the skins absurd offer does piss me off a bit, but, there are 2 key points; 1. Ozzie is not Angelos, he operates very differently and 2. The bears have leverage where the ravens did not, i.e. a young player and the cap space to hold on to him if they didn't find a deal. I guess the rep was not worth what Oz thought he could get.

Stupid, I think not, especially when a team lets a situation spiral out of control with a player that was franchised such as Briggs. That is stupid. Besides Terrell Suggs is entering the last year of his contract and is more of a priority to re-sign not to mention we have players such as Jarrett Johnson and our 2nd round pick from 2 years ago in Dan Cody ready to step in and take up the slack left from the loss of Adalius. One must not forget that he basically was a pseudo replacement to offset the loss of Peter Boulware and we have done it with draft picks such as Gary Baxter replacing Duane Starks, Ed Hartwell picking up for Ray Lewis when he was hurt years ago and then when we switched to a 3-4, then a Bart Scott offsetting the loss of Hartwell, and just this past year with a Dawan Landry offsetting the loss of a Will Demps. When it comes to judging talent on defense, no one is better at it then the Ravens, so a stupid decision it was definitely not!
                  Blah blah blah...

So the Bears are stupid, and they are getting the value of a 1st round pick.

But the Ravens got absolutely nothing and lost one of their better players to their conference rival and that's the smart move?

                  Oh...ok....

The whole **** about it "spiraling out of control" is idiotic. At what point? This is a media creation. I've said all along it would work out and amount to nothing.

Is this a serious question. They just traded Thomas Jones. Its quite clear they're giving the starting position to Benson.

                          • I can't believe I'm about to say this but...Drew Rosenhaus is the best deal maker in the NFL if this trade happens.

Considering that the Redskins have no other picks to talk turkey, that's probably the deal.

All this being said, I really don't think it's THAT bad of a trade. Briggs is a top 5 linebacker in my opinion. He's not some regular joe. Most of you guys were ******** bricks about how cheap the Bears when they wouldn't give him an extension and now he's dirt cause the Redskins are interested in him?

I can't believe I'm sort of sticking up for the Redskins.
Okay, if the positions were switched, would you want to give up the sixth overall pick of the draft for Briggs plus the thirty-first pick? Keep in mind that I'm not saying Briggs is a bad player at all. I just don't think he's worth that much, especially since linebacker really isn't that premium of a position anymore.

Also, how the **** are the Redskins going to afford this? Who else could they possibly restructure?

**** no. But of course Jerry Angelo is going to get the better of the Redskins. He's Jerry f'n Angelo baby.

                                I'm just saying I don't think it's that big of a deal.

Actually I take that back, if I had an owner like Dan Snyder who has money to blow I wouldn't mind it at all.

How many times can you trade for a multi-time probowler that's 26 years old? It's a mid-1st rounder.

The Raiders gave up the 7th pick and a starter for an older Randy Moss.

The Texans gave up the value of a mid 1st for a backup QB.

The Cowboys gave up a 1st rounder for Joey Galloway.

The Packers gave up what would be a 1st rounder today for a drunk backup QB.

All I'm saying is that we tend to overvalue picks on this board.
