I think everyone will come to find out that David Carrr is a much better QB than previously thought once he's got some protection. Great move by Carolina.

personnaly i cant see that happening. in a few years he will go from team to team starting for a season or 2 while a young qb learns the ropes

Hitman D for the sweet sig

I cant help but be afraid that this is one of those media friendly FA moves that doesnt actually work out so well (see: the Panthers offseason last year and every move the Redskins ever make) but Carr has the talent to take over and be more successful than any previous Carolina QB. I'm just afraid if he'll progress any more than he did in Houston. The reason Fox likes picking up QBs off the scrap heap is because he doesnt like developing them...so I guess we'll see if Carr was still a work in progress, in which case don't look for him to get much better in Carolina, or if he just needed a better supporting cast.

It'll be interesting to see how Delhomme's "chuck and pray" mentality meshes with Carr's "Captain Checkdown" reputation to be sure

Oh what a great move. David Carr is a pro-bowler either this year or the next. Mark it down.

Now Carr finally has an offensive line and a great WR core. I others have said, he will be a Pro Bowler soon. Thank god they signed him, now they wont pursue Kyle Boller!

Give Kyle Boller 1 Last Chance

Good move by both the Panthers and Carr.

I said in the other thread that the Panthers would probably be his best situation. Good for him. If the Panthers were smart, they wouldn't play him for a single snap next season unless it is absolutely necessary. Let him ease in and learn the system, don't force anything. Delhomme has been adequate the past few years and even caught lightning in a bottle when he brought them to the Super Bowl. I think he is, at best, an average NFL QB, which is better than most QB's that have played in the league can say, but David Carr still has the chance to be a great NFL QB. Granted, it may be too late, so we'll see...

But smart move on his part.
