  • If the Falcons had no needs

who are your top 3 players you'd like to see as Falcons...if we were starting from scratch. Basically do a mock for this year, based on the thought of having no needs.

    1.) Sedrick Ellis - DT
    2a.) Carl Nicks - OT
    2b.) Philip Wheeler - MLB
    3.) Josh Johnson - QB
    4.) Jordy Nelson - WR / KR
    5.) Johnny Dingle - DE
    6.) Jack Ikegwuonu - CB
    7.) Art Carmody - K
    7b.) Fernando Velasco - OC

So, breaks down like this for me

    4 - D
    4 - O
    1 - ST

Pretty balanced, but also good pieces to build from. I know Jack is injured, I'm not sure he won't go before that, but the kid is a great corner, I think he'd end up being extreme value.

Depends on what you mean by no needs. No needs as in no players and essentially doing a fantasy draft I take a QB (Matt Ryan) first all day. If by no needs you mean we are set at every position I take Sedrick Ellis, Glenn Dorsey, or Darren McFadden because they would all sub in for starters.

4th round, kind of player I like to have on my team. Not super flashy, but solid. Good speed, not great. Has that Jerry Rice/Anquan Boldin type speed, not going to have a great 40 but no one can catch him.

Just one of the numerous times you fail to read...now I understand why you argue the way you do.

            1. RB Darren McFadden
            2. OT Carl Nicks
            2. LB Philip Wheeler
            3. CB Brandon Flowers
            4. WR Jordy Nelson
            4. DE Chris Ellis
            5. OT/OG Barry Richardson
            6. QB Dennis Dixon
            7. S Jaimie Silva
            7. depth

But aren't we practically starting over from scratch right now?

Nice Libid...I thought about Flowers myself, but didn't know where to value him compared to Johnson...but I love that you have Dixon down there in the 6th (a good value spot for him and likely where he'll be drafted) Ellis would be a steal in round 4 too. Really solid, I'd cheer for that team.

Just wondering, bro... but are you always talking about Matt Ryan because he either gave you an autograph or shook your hand or something?

I'm not the person who thinks a 5'5" DT can go in round one.

I'm not the one who said TO had two TDs on DeAngelo Hall because we had put the game away by then. I mean, at least I watch our games.

I'm not the one who, if starting from scratch, would take a cornerback who will not play in his rookie year. I, if starting from scratch, would not take the non-scholarship league football player to start at quarterback. Yes, he would be starting from day one at quarterback because we are starting from scratch.

I am glad I get you so worked up, that you know you lose every arguement. I mean that is the only reason you would try to insult me on every possible occasion.

I think me and Shiver might be the only people being realistic. We have Chris Redman, Joey Harrington, and Byron Leftwich at quarterback. Then we have a top five pick with a top ten player at QB on the board. Get real, it is a huge possibility we take him.

Yes, he would be starting from day one at quarterback because we are starting from scratch. (Because you don't like the players I do makes me wrong? No, nor is my logic flawed. Simply because I'd draft a player there who can't contribute right away (by the way how many 6th round picks do?) and have vision for the future (a major flaw in ANYTHING you write) doesn't mean I'm stupid.

I am glad I get you so worked up, that you know you lose every arguement. I mean that is the only reason you would try to insult me on every possible occasion. (I just won every one of those. Yay me!)

                        A. Lol, it doesn't matter. 5'5" won't go anywhere. Like I said he would be like 250 pounds at best. So unless you believe a 5'5" 250 pound defensive tackle can go top five you are wrong.

The thread is too old, has been deleted. I'm sure you remember the top NFL CBs thread with the arguement over DeAngelo Hall. Someone brought up TO torching him and you said it was because the game was already in our hands. If you say you did not say it then you are a liar.

Wrong, you said from scratch. By default, every player we draft would be needed to have a big role with the team. Ikegonwu would be a wasted pick for a team lacking one starting cornerback.

Josh Johnson played non scholarship competition and weighs like 190-200 pounds. Drafting him to be your one and only quarterback, immediately making him the starter, would be insane.

Saying free agency would be dumb. That would change the whole thread and ruin the purpose of going from scratch.

Continue to insult me, because obviously the only way you feel better about yourself is to do that and continue stupid arguements.

BEST FOOTBALL PLAYER IN THE WORLD...PERIOD. You lose

Not true...you think a football team can be built from 7 players?

Josh Johnson played non scholarship competition and weighs like 190-200 pounds. Drafting him to be your one and only quarterback, immediately making him the starter, would be insane.

Yeah, cause he's added 30 pounds in a year...means he couldn't possibly get any larger.

Saying free agency would be dumb. That would change the whole thread and ruin the purpose of going from scratch.

Yawn. It doesn't matter it's the draft. Tell me when a 250 pound DT is even looked at as a prospect. Horrible arguement, you lose.

                            Then you are a liar.

You said from scratch, you said nothing about free agency. These are the players who our team will start out with is what the thread was about. You didn't say we are an expansion team, blah blah blah. The conversation was about who to draft from scratch. Also, free agency for an expansion team would need to come mostly pre-draft to show needs. If you have needs you are not starting from scratch. That would make you wrong. Either you are starting from scratch (meaning you have 0 players) or you are an expansion team (free agency has occured, needs are there and it is no longer from scratch).

I acutally think most of the CB's in the NFL can catch him.
