  • Reggie is back on the menu...

Nelson ran the 40 once in a time of 4.35 seconds. He had a 35-inch vertical jump, a 10-foot-6 long jump, ran 4.15 in the short shuttle and 6.70 in the three-cone drill. Nelson looked very good in the drills and may well have improved his stock.

That's impressive right there, he's prolly not an option at 10, but he really helped his stock with those numbers.

Pro day times are viewed in a different light due to the surfaces that they run on. His 4.46 at the combine is the number that will stick. I doubt this changes his stock, at all.

No, his time was outdoors on grass...wasn't run on a track. There was no wind and this time was amazing, he also tore the drills up. He's going to rise because of this, but how much is the question, depends on when LaRon goes.

Well, if that's the case, he's probably sticking in the 1st round then. I would like him, in event of a trade down.

Yeah a trade down, OR, a mid - late first for Schaub deal.

#10 - Carriker (who I think now COULD very well go to a 3-4 team needing him above us)

              #15-22 - Nelson / Griffin

geez everything is dependent on whether schaub gets dealt. it would be an amazing draft if we can get two first round picks or the 33rd pick. where do you guys project brown now?

I don't like Carriker much. He's the latest of the overrated Nebraska DE's (Trev Alberts, Grant Wistrom). They all grade out off the charts but just don't do great in the NFL.

Reggie is an interesting choice at a pick lower than #10. Maybe with a lower 1st rounder from a Schaub trade(?)

Like Shiver said scouts aren't going to put a lot into the pro day time. He ran at the combine, he was 100%, that is the number they are going to look at, not the pro day number.

                    That is correct comahan

I don't think you're right this time guru. And if they don't, they are foolish. He was outdoors on grass, that's far from ideal for speed, less ideal than the dome in Indy. Reggie plays much faster than the 4.48 he clocked at the combine. Coaches watch game film more than they go on numbers from the combine, that just gives them a measuring stick if it close between 2 guys, but now that Reggie redeemed himself, he's back up there. I don't think he ever was as high as someone like me wanted him to be, and I don't think he was ever as low as some people said either. He's a mid-late first, but Safetys have been coming off the board earlier than expected, so, it's kinda a crapshoot with all the new rules against corners just now effecting the way defenses have to scheme totally.

I'd still go with LaRon Landry, he's a proven player and has been great for 2 or 3 years while Nelson has only been good for 1 year.

Maybe we could trade down, with the Packers. They could secure Marshawn Lynch ahead of the Bills. Then we'd be ahead of the Jaguars for taking Nelson.
