DRAFT BUZZ: The Browns have been monitoring what it would take to pry restricted free-agent QB Matt Schaub away from the Falcons in a draft-related trade. They also have been studying David Carr of the Texans. Bringing in either of those players would entail negotiating a long-term deal. The Browns are willing to move down in, but not out of, Round 1. They have an enticing pick at No. 3 overall, and odds are even that they would trade down if an attractive offer comes along. It's a seller's market for the Browns, who are willing to stay put. The team regards Wisconsin LT Joe Thomas as the surest thing at the top of the draft, but not necessarily the best pick if the team stays at No. 3. RB Adrian Peterson is an injury risk, but he also is a threat to make a more immediate impact than Thomas could. A trade down could signal strong consideration of Notre Dame QB Brady Quinn. The Browns are trying to be careful to judge whether Peterson could be had in a trade down, in which case they would get him cheaper and gain an extra pick.
