  • There is a lot of talk of trading up for CJ

What about trading down from #8? I know we all really like Landry, but if he's gone at #8 and someone like Green Bay wants to move up for Adrian Peterson, I think we could get another second round pick maybe even 2 picks and we could be even better off. However, if we do trade down in the first, I think we'd be staring a WR straight in the face...unless Houston or Revis are on the board, then again, Nelson would be great value there as well. The problem I see then is, we'd have 11-12 picks, and that's just a WHOLE lot of rookies to have on this team. I know they all wouldn't make it, so, why would we even waste the picks and not trade up for more first day/early 2nd day picks.

But the Trade down to #16 and #47 for #8 would leave us on at 1430 points (for Atlanta) and 1400 points (for Green Bay) so it is pretty balanced. We could toss in a 6th round pick to make it a little more even if needed.

So we would end up picking something like this...

    #16 - Reggie Nelson / Michael Griffin
    #39 - Jason Hill
#44 - Justin Blaylock / Ben Grubbs / Arron Sears
    #47 - Charles Johnson / Tim Crowder
    #75 - Josh Wilson

I mean that'd be pretty nasty right there...and for some reason I am thinking more and more we will have at least 1 WR selected on day 1. I am not sure if it will be or not, but we'll see I guess.

I'd fully in favour of trading down, if we get a decent offer.

If we do have three 2nd rounders, yes, i'd be happy to use one on a WR, but I'd rather it be the last one.

    eg.

    #16 - Nelson/Griffin
    #39 - Johnson/Abiamiri
    #44 - Blaylock/Grubbs
    #47 - Hill/Davis/Rice
    #75 - Wilson/Wade
    #108 - Bush/K.Smith

But yes, trading down is definitely an option. IF we get an offer.

I would really hate to see us waste a 1st day pick on talent like Sidney Rice, but I'm optimistic with this year's draft. We have so many possible directions to go, I don't think we can miss this year. *knock on wood*

How about a swap of 1st rounders with NE

Sidney Rice is one of the last Receivers I would select in this entire draft. I would select David Clowney over him to be honest. But Jason Hill I am pretty sold on being able to be pretty good.
