  • I really hope we do. I really liked Phillips coming out and was really happy when we picked him. The guy is just a bulldog and while he may not be the best schematic fit for us, I think he could be a great backup and a special teams demon. He just likes to hurt people.

      • Of those guys, Burgess is the one I would like to see cut. Him or McClain, who lacks explosion IMO.

        • Man, I hate how Phillips is a Raven. I loved him coming out last year. I just took one look at him and knew he was a Pittsburgh Steeler LB or a Baltimore Raven LB.

          • yea the guy is the perfect thumper in a 34. He just makes things happen w/ his hustle and heart. Who doesnt love guys like that. I honestly dont know if we can do all that because I predict we keep 5 WRs and 3 TEs. I think one of them may go. Out of that list it may have to be burgess. Yes Burgess showed great special teams skills but we have many players who can be good special teamers. I think Burgess will be the odd man out.

              • I would imagine if Kindle passes his medical tests, we would want to get him on the field and caught up as quickly as possible, taking up a roster spott.

                • You can always put Kindle on the PUP list.

yeah, Kindle won't be playing anytime soon, he isn't even allowed in the Ravens facility yet.

Harbaugh said for sure that he'd be put on the PUP.

                    • we put KIndle on PUP http://blogs.baltimoreravens.com/201...-for-pup-list/

Also Ayanbedjo is on PUP, but IDK if he was taken off or if we plan on him to be on the team begining of the season.

Overall I like that 53 man prediction. I would just make 2 changes. Cut Moll and keep an extra G around.

and maybe cut a NT to keep an extra DE around. I think 4 NTs are a lot unless someone like DIvens or Tavalu can play DE and NT.

I think Talavou and Divens are both strictly NT's in a 3-4 and DT's in a 4-3. We may keep Arthur Jones if we need a extra 5 tech/DE.

and I wouldn't want to cut Moll because Gaither is a huge question mark. Moll played well in the absence of Cousins and Gaither in the first two preseason games (started vs WAS) and I think we need him for depth purposes. However, I do realize that I left out David Hale..

I believe that is a solid 53 man roster, not trying to be cocky, but I really like how it looks. We are stacked at our front 7 and have great depth at WR. We are kinda thin at OLB's though.

well, in that case, if this were the actual roster, I guess we'd cut a WR (Clayton/D-Will or Reed) Ken Hamlin or Lamar Divens.

                            • Id say maybe Hamlin. Reed,Zbikowski,Nakamura,Landry is a fine 4 for safetys.

I dont wanna cut Reed he looked good against Washington

                              • I just don't see the need of keeping four NTs on the team. They're not really assets on special teams and there's only one on the field during defense. I think we'll keep three, Gregg and Cody as the main two guys obviously, and one in case of injury (and because that's how many we usually keep). The last spot will go to one of McKinney, Talavou, or Divens. I would say it's pretty wide open between those three, but I think McKinney will end up winning the roster spot because he's the best player of the three IMO. Here's my roster prediction as of today:

                                QB: Flacco, Bulger, Smith (3)
                                RB: Rice, McGahee, Parmele (6)
                                FB: McCLain (7)
WR: Boldin, Mason, Clayton, Stallworth, Reed (12)
                                TE: Heap, Dickson, Pitta (15)
                                C: Birk (16)
G: Grubbs, Yanda, Chester, Moll (20)
T: Oher, Gaither, Cousins, Harewood (24)

DE: Ngata, Pryce, Redding, Kruger (28)
                                DT: Gregg, Cody, McKinney (31)
OLB: Suggs, Johnson, Barnes, Jones (35)
ILB: Lewis, Ellerbe, Gooden, McClain, Phillips (40)
CB: Webb, Washington, Carr, Fisher, Gerard (45)
S: Reed, Landry, Zbikowski, Nakamura, Hamlin (50)

                                K: Cundiff (51)
                                P: Koch (52)
                                LS: Cox (53)

                                PUP: Ayanbandejo, Kindle
                                Reserve/Suspended: Cary Williams

I'm thinking Arthur Jones could end up on the IR with some kind of injury.
