The more I see Chris Williams being our pick... the less it makes me think it's actually going to happen.
I'm going to say right now that Rashard Mendenhall will be the pick.
That's the conclusion I have come to as well. Although I know many would disagree with the way I have it, I think:
1) Miami – Vernon Gholston
2) St. Louis – Chris Long
3) Atlanta – Jake Long
4) Oakland – Darren McFadden
5) Kansas City – Matt Ryan
6) NYJ – Leodis McKelvin
7) New England (f/ San Francisco) – Derrick Harvey
8) Baltimore – Ryan Clady
9) Cincinnati – Sedrick Ellis
10) New Orleans – Glenn Dorsey
11) Buffalo – Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
12) Denver – Keith Rivers
13) Carolina – Chris Williams
14) Chicago – Rashard Mendenhall
15) Detroit – Jeff Otah
Angelo would choose the more proven commodity, the local kid, who still fits a position of need, when drafting offensively, which hasn't been a strong point in the past. Plus, it keeps him away from Detroit. He (JA) won't be criticized hugely because in many respects it is a smart pick and more likely to pan out than Otah at left tackle (at least in my mind), but I also wouldn't be surprised by Branden Albert. At the very worst he can be our Alan Faneca, at best he becomes a stud left tackle. Win/win.
What do you guys think of this Bears mock I came up with, unrealistic and to good to happen or is there a good chance it could work out this way. The hardest round for me was the forth round.
1st - Chris Williams OT

3rd - Earl Bennett WR
3rd - Matt Forte RB
4th - Tyrell Johnson SS
5th - Kevin O'Connell QB
