If we bring Marshall in it would make the offense just so much better. Palmer would look amazing again.

    Sig by yours truly.

This was a welcome rumor to hear. If this story has any legs, we should hear something more definitive on this today or this week latest. Boy this would be something that we truly need. On the drama meter, this would be much better than TO for the team.

Getting Marshall would be absolutely sick. It would be like having a better version of Henry.

With that said... They were only initial talks and it could easily be a way to drive down the price wanted from Owens/Bryant's representatives. The deal would make sense given we have a lower 1st rounder, future/immediate need at WR which Marshall would fill and he's better/younger than Bryant/Owens.

Chris Baker to visit today apparently and they have shown interest in Phillip Buchanon.

Bryant is a huge possibility. Palmer has been talking him up this past week much like he did with Coles last season. Bryant wouldnt be a bad addition. I don't think his signing would warrant us to not take a WR early though. It may allow us to be more flexible when we take one though. It would also prolly rule out the Marshal trade.

If Bryant does sign I really hope it doesn't pay out the same as Coles did. That was really hard to watch all year. I also hope Palmer can get over whats buggin him. There hasn't been a QB come back from Tommy John surgery and be a successfull player. Delhomme was the first to actually play after having it done and we have all seen how that played out. I have a feeling this time next year we will be talking about what QB to trade for or what QB will be available when the Bengals draft.:(

Did I miss something? I thought Palmer elected to not have the surgery and just let it heal on his own.

You didn't miss anything. He has elected to not have surgery and is trying to avoid it. As for the missing part Carson has done a good job of that when it comes to his receivers. Palmer ended up seeing like 4 doctors till he found one that said he didn't need the surgery.

Correct. He opted not to have the surgery.. He saw a lot of specialists and what I think he did was just take route that was most common among the doctors and that was to let it heal on its own. He is still accurate but he doesn't seem to be able to put the same zip on the ball as he used to. I still wouldn't trade him away for anything less than 2 first round picks and possibly more

Schefter also saying TO to visit Tuesday.

Tank Johnson re-signed to 4 year deal. I'm glad to hear that, less concerned about the DT spot.

I don't think Palmer has lost any zip on the ball. I think he's always thrown it a little high and he's always lead his receivers into traffic. It just so happens that we don't have the scheme or personnel to mask his weakness' anymore.

I think Palmer threw a really nice deep ball, especially off play action. But his short to intermediate type routes are generally high and into traffic. When we had someone like TJ who was a bit taller than most corners he faced off against and was also not afraid to take a hit it was much easier for Palmer to play his own game.

There's a reason TJ got 90+ receptions for 3 seasons in a row, including 1 with a back up QB; he's just an easy target. He'll never wow you with a bunch of big plays or anything, but he'll consistently be open.

I think Palmer just needs another TJ. Someone who can catch 6-7 passes a game (90-100 receptions a season) and will reliably get past the 1st down marker on 3rd down.

Statistically, Palmer didn't have an awful season. I know stats don't mean everything, and trust me I watched every game just like you guys. But I don't think he's problem here, it's the guys around him.
