  • Ochocinco done in Cincy?

    http://www.cincyjungle.com/2010/12/3...ore-for-season

I would be fine with them getting rid of Chad giving the younger WR playing time and going after Green or Jones in the Draft

Yeah, I had been wondering for a long time whatever happened to Jerome Simpson because I loved that guy coming outta Coastal Carolina... since I saw him jumping over people.

Finally, last week, America saw him. Exciting guy.

I still like Chad but it's hard to argue for him with the way he's played. Even last year with good stats, you could see he just wasn't putting as much effort in on every play.

A guy like Simpson or Caldwell may not be as talented as Chad (yet anyways), but they'll play hard every down and try to be the best they can. I'm not 100% sure I can say the same thing about Ochocinco.

Either way, T.O. definitely needs to go. Caldwell, Shipley and Simpson have all proven they can be the #2 on this team at least. If Simpson has another great game in Baltimore on Sunday then I think it's time for a change.

Also, call me crazy but I think with Shipley, Gresham, Simpson and Caldwell that drafting another receiving target would be a mistake. That first pick could be used on a lot of things that I believe to be more valuable at this point.

For starters, and I know it's not Mike Brown's style, but we could trade back and pick up some additional picks for once. Get in position to get a much needed safety or defensive end. At worst, we could get one of the top QB's in this draft (I assume Luck will be gone, but I wouldn't mind Mallet or Newton) in case last week was just a fluke for Palmer.

I think if you don't have faith in Simpson / Caldwell / Shipley then you keep Ochocinco. But don't draft Green or Jones to replace him.

I think our first two rounds either go like this in my opinion:

        A) 1. AJ Green 2. Rahim Moore/DeAndre McDaniel
        B) 1. Patrick Peterson(FS) 2. Justin Blackmon/Ryan Broyles

Ocho and TO are done in Cincy, Simpson and Caldwell shouldn't be given the jobs after a couple games... Simpson looked amazing last week but at the start of the year he was a question to even make the team? Next we need to upgrade the safety position badly... Patrick Peterson could have impact like Malcom Jenkins does in New Orleans with the ability to play the slot as well

Round 3 we think we go after another pass rusher, Greg Romeus has the injuries this year but has 1st round talent...

Round 4 or 5 we have to pick up Kai Forbath or Alex Henery so we can actually make some fg's

I've got to disagree with you on a few things. I don't like Peterson that high. Safeties should never be drafted top 5 and especially a guy with some very legit questions like Peterson. The flameouts from most LSU guys in recent years (Laron Landry at the same position) is extra cause for concern.

I also don't like investing even more resources into the passing game right now, even though I love AJ Green's talent. This team needs to focus on the lines on both sides of the ball.

Personally, I'd like to see a decent FA WR added (Steve Breaston or someone of that ilk) and Ced and JoJo retained in FA (while TO and Chad are dumped). It may not be a stat studded group, but I think Gresham, Shipley, Breaston, Simpson and Caldwell would be sufficient.

Those simple moves would free you up to go with the top DL in the first (Nick Fairley? Daquan Bowers?) and then the top OG (Mike Pouncey? Rodney Hudson? Marcus Cannon?) at the top of the 2nd round. I'd then grab multiple safeties in the 3rd/4th round.

Give Carson one more year to sink or swim with a better OL, strong running game and no divas at WR.

I agree with not taking a safety that early but I mean the guy is a beast and would be basically picking bpa... Signing JoJo longterm is a must but next year Leon Hall and Adam Jones' contracts are both up as well... so having Peterson isn't all that bad of an idea... I mean if people knew Darelle Revis was going to be this good he would have been taken in the top 5 as well so if a player you think can have the impact of a superstar you take them, thats why I suggest Peterson... He has potential to be a great safety, wouldn't it be nice to have a guy back there that teams would second guess throwing against...

As for Steve Breaston... I highly doubt we go the FA WR option again this year.... 2 years in a row and we had very bad luck with it and I'm not positive of all the FA WR's on the market this year but Breaston has to be one of the top ones and will see money that he shouldn't get.. A guy like AJ Green can be a game changer. I did like what I saw out of Jerome in his couple games and have always thought Andre Caldwell has been a decent WR for us but he isnt AJ Green

For me because our pass rush finally came alive the last 6-7 games I don't see us investing a top 5 pick on a DE when Dunlap and Michael Johnson have been playing very good. Johnson doesn't have all the sacks to show for it but he is applying pressure almost everytime and is getting off blocks to make tackles at the los. As for a DT like Fairley, I would love to have him on this team because the dude is a beast on the field, but again I think the coaching staff is very happy with Peko, Tank, Sims, Atkins....
