Also kicker...I dont see a reason to keep both. Gramatica is staying w/ Folk on kickoffs so we wont need a kickoff specialist. If we chose to go w/ Martin he would be fine doing both and vice versa.
I have a sneaky suspicion that both K guys will be starters this year in this NFL.

Folks looks very good and his kickoffs are allegedly much higher than Martin's. Martin also looks good.

I would keep only 2 QB. 2 TE. 1 FB. Use the extra roster spots for positions that we need developmental time .... WR, OL
2 Qbs and 1 FB that could def. work but, we will need a 3rd TE. Fasano is expected to have an increased role this season and well, Garrett really wants to utilize the talent we have at the position. If Fasano or Witten were to go down in say the 1st quarter...we'll have a problem. We need a 3rd...and as much as I like Bergen (he's my friend, actually), Tony Curtis has pretty much earned that spot imo, already.

        I'm pretty sure we take 2 FB's. I don't think there's a doubt we'll keep 3 TE's, because both Witten and Fasano will be used a lot.
We need a backup FB, because Garrett uses the FB a lot more than Parcells did. A lot of teams take two FB's, I see us taking 2 FB's more tha 6 WR's. It all depends on how much they're high on Austin.

And robert, Austin is not faster than Stanback. Stanback runs the 100 meters in 10.48. That's a pretty amazing result.

Modano, not to argue but Austin was timed 4.41 and had very good quickness measurements. It was at the combine.

Stanback's stats, to be honest, seem like they were pulled out of thin air and repeated ad nauseum until they have become truth....

Reminds me of the global warming arguement. NASA just fixed the incorrect numbers that folks were distributing to support their postions. Have yet to hear the "warming" trends are not quite trends b/c it takes time for the truth to come out after the blizzard of lies.

I see no need for a third TE given we improved our OL, our FB (Hoyte) is a good blocker, and Barber can get a yard. What set do you need a third TE for other than short yardage?

But Tony has looked better in rotues than Bergen. Problem is we have not seen the whole portfolio like the coaches do.

On Garrett, name me our second TE from the early 90s?? Let alone the third. Garrett is not worried about the THIRD TE.....

But this isn't the '90s. The TE position has evolved greatly since then. It's a huge advantage to have multiple TE's who are capable of stretching the defense and are legitimate threats in the passing game. Teams across the league have become very aware of this and have put a premium on the position like we've never seen before. Also, there are far better athletes at this position than ever before. Knowing that we will be using a 2 TE set at times this year, it's probably a good idea to hang onto a 3rd guy. Especially considering that Tony Curtis is no slouch and deserves a roster spot. I don't know about you, but I want Fasano to see a substantial amount of PT this year, along with Witten. Together, they should give defenses fits. Having a Tony Curtis is almost as vital as having a Tyson Thompson or a Sam Hurd.

Also, add to that the fact that Fasano has a suspect shoulder, and that makes a 3rd TE even more important.

Rather have more true ILB Depth than a third TE but hey that is what they pay coaches to worry about.

                    Okay...so, I'm almost done w/ my first 53 man roster. I'm stuck at the end...I'm trying to think here...A 3rd Qb, a 9th LB, a 10th OL, or an 11th DB. yeah, i said 11.

I think there is a good chance we keep 6 corners...with the last being Jones or Ball but, I think we will def. keep 5 safties...I cant see any way we don't actually. So, that makes 11...hmm. I'm just not sure if we'll keep 11 but, i could see it.

                      Thanks BoneKrusher^

I think the finla roster will be decided on the PR. Whs' gonna return punt for us? Crayton, Urban or Butler? I think one between Urban or Butler will make the team.
