Good list. I still think they dress two kickers on game day, so I can see Grammatica staying. Also I don't know if Miles makes the team after that performance last game. Thompson is, hands down, the better return man.

Miles Austin will get cut, I also wouldn't be shock if Pat McQuistan was cut.....

The only issue with the list is we really are light at the ILB spot. Seems OLB heavy, otherwise makes sense.

        I would only ?? on a few ...

        Elam over Davis (cheaper)

1 Less WR in exchange for one more CB (Jones)

Saldi over Obomese (can play ILB, bigger, bulkier)

2 FB? Pick one I say.

Cut McQuistan and Austin? Wow, that is going out there. Possible however. Cheap but physically talented guys are usually kept around.

McQuistan is as much of a lock as Tony Romo, MB3, Newman and the other starters. He is arguably our 5th best o-linemen, if not better.

There is ZERO chance that McQuistan doesn't make the team this year. He's looking like a viable option at LT for next year. I think he's ready to play alot this year so even if Flo wen't down he'd only be a slight downgrade. I'd keep McQuistan over Kosier if need be (neither is in danger of being cut, just as an example). MCQ is the 4th best OL on the roster at this point.

I agree with McQuistan being a lock. But why would Austin be considered a lock? His WR skills are pretty poor which was quite evident. When it comes to the return game, he couldn't hold Tyson's jock strap. I can only see Austin making the team to back up Tyson incase he gets hurt again.

What makes you think Miles is "physically gifted" other than that killer smile he displayed in the Seattle game? :)

                    I think you're real close.

The 3rd QB may end up being on the practice squad because of Crayton and Stanback's ability to fill in in a terrible pinch.

I think Bergen probably makes the team because you can still stash Curtis on the practice squad. (I think?)

Austin and Hurd make the team. I agree McQuistan is a lock to backup LT and LG.

The confusing part is at DL/LB. I think Bowen probably makes the team at the expense of Obomese due to his ability to play inside. But I also think we'll acquire a NT type lineman before the regular season starts, though Remi is apparently moving up the depth chart.

I've also got Nate Jones over Joey Thomas, but I think Nate's gonna get run off every year and I'm always wrong.

Take the big RB and a few of the young secondary guys and we fill the practice squad. We have a truckload of talent this year.

I think we take 2 FB on roster for sure. Almost every team carries 2 FB, we didn't do that last year because we were not using the FB so much. Garrett's offense will use the FB a lot more, so I think the second FB is a lock.
The reason I put Anderson over Polite is the potential. Last year Polite wasn't on the team for some games but we were able to call him back, no other team shown interest on him.

I guess we take 9 LB's at roster, 4 on the inside is good, especially when you count that both Carpenter and Burnett are "starting material".

It's hard to predict how many WR/QB/DL we'll take. 5 CBs are fine, I don't think you need six CB's, especially when you consider that Hurd and our safeties are all good special teamers. For the QB position I think we take Moore based on potential, he could develope into a solid backup down the road and if we cut him, another team will grab him.
                      So we'll take 6 WR's and 4 DE's or 5 WR's and 5 DE'sm with the 5th DE being Bowen.
If Stanback will show something returning kick, Austin is in real trouble. Right now I think he stays on roster because of his returning ability and the fact that we don't have a good returner if Thompson goes down like last year.

I think we'll keep 2 QB's and 6 WR's. Moore wont have a problem going to the squad most likely. Wouldnt be surprised to see us keep 5 safties to be honest...just gotta see how things unfold within the next week or so until I'll do one of these.

Also kicker...I dont see a reason to keep both. Gramatica is staying w/ Folk on kickoffs so we wont need a kickoff specialist. If we chose to go w/ Martin he would be fine doing both and vice versa.

                        Thanks BoneKrusher^

Go check his combine results. He was among the fastest of his class as well as quickest. Otherwise you think a Monmouth guy would have made the roster?

People rave about Stanback and he is both smaller and slower than Austin ....

NOW, what makes a great WR is more than that but it is a good start.

He has one more kick-off return for a TD than Tyson does with 10X less returns......... give him Tyson's volume and who knows.......

** and I love Tyson as KR and #2 RB.

Polite was on the 53 team but frequently not on game day roster ....

I would keep only 2 QB. 2 TE. 1 FB. Use the extra roster spots for positions that we need developmental time .... WR, OL
