    1) He's not very good. Yeah, he's been to Hawaii a couple times, but that's because he's way overrated. (Hmmm ... that might mean he'd fit in well with the Cowboys' secondary.) If you don't believe me, read what ESPN.com's KC Joyner wrote when he included Hall on his list of overrated players before last season.

This is the second consecutive season Hall makes this list. He receives this honor because he once again made the Pro Bowl, despite posting simply abysmal metrics.
His 9.2 YPA ranked 76th among cornerbacks. Hall's 47.1 success percentage was solid (31st in the league), but his 17.9 missed pass percentage was one of the highest in the league. That means a large percentage of Hall's success was due to luck.

    2) He wants a ginormous contract, and his current deal expires after next season. So does Terence Newman's deal. It doesn't make sense to pay Nate Clements-like money to two cornerbacks. Nor does it make sense to give up a first-round pick for a dude who will only be around for one season. So, unless the Cowboys plan to part ways with Newman, trading for Hall would be a head-scratcher from a salary-cap perspective.

    3) The Keep T.O. Happy Factor. You might recall that Hall and T.O. have some sticky history, so to speak. The supposed spitting incident, which cost the Original 81 $35 grand, occurred during a game in which T.O. torched Hall for two touchdowns (see reason 1). You're asking for trouble if you put T.O. and Hall in the same locker room.

Once again, we are talking about a list made before this season. AKA him coming off a down year before he lit it up this season.

No. Its' like the McFadden trade. The "your GM is Jerry Jones and he wants to spend money and do stupid things etc etc" argument.
He likes McFadden, McFadden is from Arkansas, so he wants to send two first rounds and Barber to Miami for the #1 overall.
The Cowboys needs a corner back so he wants to send a first round pick to grab Hall.

It's not really possible to provide evidence. It's just my opinion on the player from what I've seen out of him.

And just so you know I'm usually right.

A few but still are all "rumors"

^ That one says we offered our #22 pick and in the hunt for him with a few other teams

^ On that blog it reports Jerry Jones asked for permission to discuss figures for Hall, so thats as far as we know for sure, and its reported we are interested, just no telling how much, or what offer we have on the table...I think Jerry is just weighing all his options, he likes to make splashes like this so I certainly wouldnt be surprised to hear it happen.

So because some writer wrote on his blog that Hall is not good, it is automatically true?

I would trust guys who actually watched him play through the season myself, but hey, thats just me. Some people dont like using sense and reason.

You can go through the Falcon highlights of every game and watch all the passing TDs thrown against our D. Only 1 of them was DeAngelo Hall's fault where he bit on Galloway's fake slant and Galloway proceeded to burning him for 44 yards and the TD. If there was a way to watch more Falcons tape, I suggest you watch it and see the terrific job Hall did without a great pass rush. Most teams just avoided him, and though it may be because of the rookie playing on the other side, it had alot to do with his skill.

Im still waiting for the dbs in the league that are elite, and the ones who are close, so I can figure out what guys you think is better then Hall, instead of just saying "He's not elite, im always right, trust me".

So your Opinion makes it true? This whole thread is opinion. Some people like him some think hes overrated. One of you asked for stats so I posted some. The writer gave other reasons not to sign him besides hes overrated, cost, TO, locker room ect. When TO torched him I guess it was just a bad year? Line them up again and my moneys on TO.

I'll take the opinion of someone who watched every game. Might be just me though.

I am not saying my opinion. I am talking about Falcon nation. Everyone who has seen the games. We might be biased, but we are the only ones that watched Falcon games. There are alot of other posters on this site that recognize how good of a year had Hall, who are not Falcon fans. Just goes to show you how much can be learned by watching a game.

I am still waiting for jdallas to respond.

BINGO!!! Hall played great after the switch to man to man, which he would play in Dallas. If we were talking the colts picking him up I would be right there with you guys, but we don't need him playing zone.

People get too damn set in their ways around here. How many Atlanta games did you guys watch this year, one or two?

...and really Pocketaces? you are going to support your statement with a quote of a quote that is irrelevant due to the age of it? How does stats from the year before have any bearing on how he played this year? I realize I am not supporting my side either, but I am not about to show stats from his rookie year and act like they mean anything now.
