  • Texas Stadium Memories

Well with it being imploded today I figured I would start a thread on all of your favorite memories at Texas Stadium.

The one that sticks out in my mind regardless of anything, regardless of the final score is the game where George Teague knocked Owens flat for running to the star a second time. Was Teague a great player no, but he will always be immortalized because of that play.

So what are some of your thoughts?

Thanks to bonekrusher for the sig

      Thrilling Texas Stadium moments

Rookie QB Clint Longley from Abilene Christian comes off the bench to upset the Redskins.

Don Shula rushes his Fins extra point team on the field while the officials decide wtf to do after bonehead Leon Lett "scored" a TD for the opponents in the Fog Bowl game

Premiere night in Texas Stadium of the Cowboys MNF opener in 1970, the crowd knows Dandy Don Meredith is in the booth, & when Dallas starts losing you hear the chant "We want Dandy Don! Put in Dandy Don" -- Meredith's response: "No way I'm goin' down there..."

Randy White with that If Looks Could Kill look as he crosses the picket line in the 1987 players strike & some fool team mate on strike smacks his pickup with a sign

Emmitt Smith sets the career rushing yardage rcd.

Tony "TD" Dorsett sets the league rcd. TD run -- 99 yds, still stands -- vs. the Vikings. He was actually unaware of it until Gil Brandt grabbed him on the sideline & screamed "Get the ball! Get that ball, league rcd! League rcd!"

When some redneck hacks into the live ABC MNF feed to scream to America "Howard, everybody in Texas hates your guts!"

Any Ed "Too Tall" Jones moment when he slapped a pass back into the opposing QB's face

The 1996 NFC Championship game against the Packers will always be a high point for me.

Watching Emmitt break Walter's record is probably second to that game.

Randy White, fixed it. White played at the U. of Maryland though.

I said it was vs. the Vikings. Isnt that the Minny NFL team? It was in like 1972 or so when Dorsett set the rcd. Chk me on this but I think Jack Del Rio was the Viking MLB who was the only defender to lay a hand on Dorsett on that run, after he cleared him Dorsett ran untouched to the EZ 99 yds away.... technically it was 99 & 1/2 yds, the ball was inside the Dallas one yd line, but the NFL does not measure < 1 yd. in its rcds.
