  • No matter who we draft.....

do they have a chance to start??

After looking and thinking over every position on the team, baring any injuries in camp, we really don't have a position up for grabs. Maybe SOLB, but not really.

They don't have to start in order to contribute. If they play well enough they'll see the field.

Does a kicker or return man count as a starter?

^ I say yes. Also take into account injuries, and them playing well enough to play.

I meant no injuries. And I guess kicker and RS could count.

I think the best opportunities a rookie might have to play (not necessarily start) would be at nickel back or strong side linebacker (or nickel backer and inside linebacker rotation).

Wade Phillips said he is going to make something out of Kevin Burnett, so we won't really need a nickel backer.

Usually you have two nickel backers...I don't see Bradie James playing full time, and if Carpenter is starting at SOLB, I don't see him playing in the nickel either.

Bradie James is our starting MLB dude. You don't see him playing full time?

Ayodele, Carpenter, and Burnett should work some in the nickel.

If a player starts and plays only 1st and 2nd down but is removed for third down, that's not playing full time yno88.

Well then the only "full time" defensive players play CB and S.

Demarcus Ware...possibly Ellis or Carpenter, Spears or Canty, etc...you are right that no one plays full-time, but what I meant was that Bradie James is not a 3 down linebacker.
