  • I never said write him off, but come on MOTH, 7 carries for 7 yards, come on now.

Marion Barber is running behind the same line ya know? He had 11 carries for 31 yards. While it's nothing to write him about it's a pretty big disparity between the two especially considering Barber is nowhere near as explosive or a home run threat, or at least he's not supposed to be. He also looked much better hitting the holes and in the open field.

I never said to write him off or anything close to that, what I am saying is that he has been disappointing thus far, and that I'm not just gonna look at everyone BUT Felix. That's just not logical at all.

They have different running packages...many of Felix's play calls are off the edge or built to get him in space. But there has been no where to run. Marion is running between the tackles almost exclusively these days.

Marion has seen better blocking...Felix has been getting hit as soon as it's handed off on many occassions. It is completely logical...Felix is still a "speed" back, he sees different play calls then Barber. And for whatever reason, our run blocking on these plays has been incredibly sketchy. Garrett needs to weed through the crap and actually find some good ones, or at least...call more in between the tackle runs for Felix. Our run blocking looks nothing like it did a year ago. The holes are just not there. I'm more than ready to blow up that whole line...and also sick of this shuffling of running backs. Garrett's use of Jones has been criminal over the years. Might as well run one back...since there is no real balance at all in our offense and he struggles to try and spread the ball around between the backs. Garrett's handling of our "weapons" is moronic and he's just hurting the team. I honestly believe, the guy is in over his head and has no idea how to satisfy all the players, with just one ball to go around.

As for Felix...I'll be first in line to admit him sucking...if he indeed does, when he actually gets say 15 or so carries. But I in no way think that's the case. He should be fine, but right now there are several factors leading to out rushing struggles.

And just an FYI...he has had a couple of games like this already on Dallas. I specifically remember a 6 for 6 effort last year. I wouldnt even really worry about him. People are just jumping the gun here. If he actually gets the ball, he'll make good things happen, so long as the line holds up.

      Thanks BoneKrusher^

      • Hard to feel good about anything this team is doing right now. The structure of organization is extremely flawed but that's another matter entirely. About the only thing I feel good about right now is that Dez Bryant draft pick. If he's fortunate enough to stay away from serious injuries he should eventually own every single Cowboys receiving record.

If it weren't for the fact that I've become a bigger college than NFL fan I'd be even more devastated by 0-2. It still freaking sucks though! :-(

        • Can't say I didn't see this outcome coming. Want some food for thought....

How many times with 2 minutes or when we are down do you see us successfully run a no huddle offense. Who calls these plays...Romo...what are no huddle offenses...simplistic. This is when we thrive.

If you want to give Garrett credit I like his opening drives usually...now that said if they go 3 and out it's usually downhill from there..but he can write up a script to move the ball...but put in factors like penalties or a sack and all of a sudden he's exposed again.

I'm going to wait till i rewatch the game as I missed some of the first half...but interesting question. Jerry has stud by Wade and likes Wade. If dallas loses next week to a good Houston team going into the bye does Jerry ask Wade wtf is going on...and Wade maybe sellout Garrett to save his job. I don't think sellout is the right word...but when Jerry and Stephen Jones start looking for answers you think maybe they give Wade a chance to save his job?

Who's idea was it to get Dan Reeves?

If wade get's fired with Garrett as his OC he once again got screwed...Wade hasn't been perfect but I just have a sense that he's getting sliced pretty thin. I think he's spending more time with Garrett and the offense and that is showing up on Sunday when the defense isn't able to get to the QB the way we do when we play top tier teams. You can tell when Wade puts in the extra time with his gameplan...it's when we look dominant.

            • I said that last week when we lost to a division opponent...if I remember right you told me we'd be alright not to overreact haha.

The worst part of this whole thing is that out of the first three games this game against Houston is the one game we could afford to lose. Conference games are so important especially when you are looking at a 9-7 record where tie breakers are going to be a huge factor.

At this point it's going to take one hell of a turnaround to pull off a playoff birth. I'm not saying it's impossible...hell we still have a very good chance at winning our division...that said our team hasn't shown us anything to think they can play a game without shooting themselves in the foot.

Personally at this point I'd like to see us go 0-3 into the bye week and have a change made on the coaching staff...that said I find it highly unlikely that it'd happen. The main reasoning behind this is that who is going to be the OC? John Garrett? I just don't think we have the guy to step up...and I don't think you can go without a OC and a DC.

So using what I said above...obviously a win is important...and it'll be important to win any game even if it's an afc opponent but I'm not even confident that we will beat Houston. I know we "can" but this team just seems to lack the fortitude to buckle down when it counts. I hope I'm wrong..but our inability to create a push in the trenches on offense give me no confidence that it'll change. Our Ol has regressed every year since Sparano has left and Houck is the highest paid OL coach in the league...he's proven...so using that I'm going to put the blame on Garrett. He's proven to be an elitest with more hubris than most ivy league grads....we win despite him not because of him...that is a huge issue and should have been addressed when Stewart was fired.

              • We don't have a fg kicker, until that changes we'll lose all these close games. It's pretty simple. He's missing short ones too, it's just not even worth hoping to win knowing that's what we relied on.

Haha, I'm in like pergatory right now. Half of the thinks its already a lost season, while the other have realizes we can still easily win our division.

Although, I do think we beat the texans. I have that feeling, and when I do i'm usually right. (knock on wood)

The only team I'm legit scared of is the Packers. Aaron Rodgers is just other worldly right now.

The eagles, giants, vikes, saints, colts don't scare me. If we right this ship I think we can turn it around. Hell, we could go 14-2.

Time will tell. Sucks being 0-2 and having to wait a week to watch another game.

I second this. I knew he was missing that.

"Certainly, the last two field goals have been very meaningful that have been missed, but my inclination is to be very patient here."

Asked why, Jones replied, "Because I want to. That's what my instincts tell me.

Same as last year, there is a guy free and ready to tackle our return man at about the 8 yard line. We're lucky to even get it past the 20 on most returns.
Can't cover KOs or punts either.

When Buehler has to make 2 tackles in 2 games what does that tell you?

I've reconciled myself to a 7-9 season at best now, 0-2 means no SB, playoffs a fantasy dream rapidly going poof, all gone.

That would be the silver lining. The coaching staff is pissing away the best talent stockpile they've had in 5 yrs. They'll be using that O-word next wk, overrated, when talking about the Dallas in the SB predictions. They draw a playoff team more difficult schedule & can't even win vs. the B-list teams. This is depressing & dismal.....

                            • Well the rest of our division is 1-1... So everyone needs to chill now. Were one game back with 14 to go...

We need to beat the texans and recoup in the bye.

But when the GM keeps under-performers on the team who cost you games you can not expect much.

All the personality defects this team has are a mirror image of the Owner.
