  • I don't think I would want Deion as my mentor.

End the season with 2 road games, not happy with that, but oh well.

        • Writing on the Wall with Marion Barber Gone?

In Jerry's presser he made a distinct comment saying our 3rd RB needs to participate on ST. Well, we're not getting rid of Jones and probably not Choice, so the odd man out, which comes to no surprise is Barber.

Isn't Choice technically our 3rd? And he plays on ST.

            • Surprised their is no discussion on the continuing chaos surrounding Bryant. What is wrong with this kid?

Your team is lucky it has a stud top 3 WR like Austin at that spot b/c for all the talent Bryant has he is not only injury prone but prone to burning bridges with authority figures..

Well I would say that is because we knew what we were getting when we drafted him. We knew there were character issues and because we have no intimidating character guy to keep everyone in line. That is why I am jealous of the Ravens.

You can't mess up in the Ravens organization while Ray Lewis and Ed Reed are there, you are forced to get your character issues fixed up or they fix you up is basically how it seems as they consistently turn guys around.

Thanks to bonekrusher for the sig

                • Scandrick has gained 10 pounds of muscle apparently. Soooo, if you go by our listed weights, he'd be about 204. Which would put him around Alan Ball's weight last year. Ball is listed at like 195, but he def. looked larger than that last year. And he was much bigger than Orlando. But yeah, Scandrick's gain in size remains to be seen, because I always had a hard time believing he was even that 194 he was listed at. Dude just looks tiny out there.

But with him adding the weight, his decent enough tackling ability, and willingness to stick his nose in there a bit...maybe we plan on turning to him at FS this year. We've heard of this potential move before...but nothing really came of it. But with the added size, perhaps they revisit this idea, or maybe that's been the plan all along going into this season.

That said, he could just as easily be gaining weight just to be a stronger corner as well. We'll see, in that case....the added weight may make me a little nervous with his speed, potentially. He gets beat enough as it is. We'll just have to wait and see. Sucks that we havent been able to get a lot of team info with this lockout crap.

                  Thanks BoneKrusher^

Chaos? Sorry if I don't see him sagging his pants and not paying back his jewelry in a timely manner as "chaos". In fact if that's the worst that we'd have to worry about taking into account his talent level I don't see a big problem what so ever. Talk to me when he actually gets arrested, for now it's all just off-season talk to occupy time.

Technically, but he doesnt provide anything on special teams. Murray will!

Him not showing up to meet with Jones REALLY bothers me though

On Friday, when the doors at Valley Ranch temporarily swung open for players, the Cowboys' training staff was waiting eagerly on Bryant, mainly to check on the rehab of the broken ankle from last season, a rehab that has gone unsupervised due to the lockout.
We can assume the reports of Dez playing high-end pickup basketball games in Cedar Hill would not be recommended rehab by the trainers.
Dez's new receivers coach is Jimmy Robinson, a guy Bryant has hardly met. Friday would have been a perfect get-together moment. The same goes for new strength and conditioning coach Mike Woicik, one of the NFL's most respected. Woicik surely has some ideas for Dez.
Most of all, a good sit-down with Jerry Jones should have been mandatory on Friday, something Jerry had admitted Thursday. Based on what's gone on with Dez in the off-season, he needs a lecture.
None of this happened, of course, on Friday.
Dez no-showed. And although Jerry tried to alibi for Bryant on Friday, let's be clear here. Dez out-and-out punked Jerry by no-showing.

Chaos? What Chaos? Kid hasn't done anything wrong... For all you know his missed meetign was a misunderstanding.

Whats wrong with him is that he's going to be a top 5 WR, if not this year then next. Kid is unbelievable. You guys got yourself a player..

Like I posted in the Eagles thread, don't know how we're going to stop Bryant, Austin, Jones, and Murray. Not to mentioned Romo. Yikes.

It's not common to see this opinion from an Eagles fan. I hope you stick around. Sounds like you know how to put bias aside.

I can say the same about the Eagles... with the way the Cowboys decided to NOT improve the secondary and defensive line in the draft, I feel like we aren't equip to stop the Eagles attack of Vick, Jackson, Maclin, Celek, McCoy and Havili. Our only chance is to outscore you.

                            • More Dez...

The Cowboys held their first team-wide offseason workout of the lockout, and one player was noticeably absent.

Last Friday, Bryant did not show up for a meeting with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones after Jones told the media he was scheduled to meet with Bryant. When pressed for an explanation, Jones told the media the two had already discussed everything they had needed to at a separate meeting the previous day, but admitted he did not know where Bryant was Friday.

Now, he was not present in the biggest team activity since the lockout began. Whether it's a blip on the radar or the beginning of a larger problem remains to be seen.

What is up with this dude?

                              • Dez not showing up to these meetings is definitely not a good sign. He needs to get his head straight.
