  • Cutting Barber saves $4.75 M.

He was one of the players that met with JJ today.

    Edit...Officially cut, according to Schefter.

      • Barber was fun to watch before he lost a step, I wish him luck.

I hope Brooking is the next cap casualty, he's another one that's just physically done at this point. Lee's ready to start and Carter gives us solid depth this year.
        Cowboys Mock:
        1. Myles Jack | LB | UCLA
        2. Vernon Butler | DT | LA Tech
        3. Karl Joseph | SS | WVU

        • HI PAUL! Hey football's back!

The cuts so far are rather expected...assuming Colombo gets cut as well.

I havent seen any source saying Newman will be back yet, but that should have been expected as well. Same goes for Roy. But I would still greatly welcome his release.

That said, if we go cut crazy, it's going to bite us in the ass next season, with all the cap hits.

Brooking aint going anywhere...Jerry values his leadership. Sucks that he cant see that he isnt any good, though. Jerry said a while ago that he was coming back for sure. On the flip side, you cant count on Carter proving solid depth, coming off of a torn acl. He wont even be ready for camp. I read some article that said he was about 85% right now. He's coming along in his rehab...he just needs to be given ample time to fully recover.

I also wouldnt consider these cap caualities...we are actually cutting crappy players. Not like we're cutting good players.

I feel better about his cut than anyone elses. AAAAMAZING news!

T-New better restructure or he's next on my chopping block.

Happy with all the cuts so far. Even though my boy Barber is gone, I will cherish the sweet sweet memories. Thank you MB3!!!

It doesnt seem like it's as substantial as everyone was reporting initially. $12.9 million that number was. But by designating him as a June 1st cut, he saves us $5.1 million. But he will still be on the books as "dead money" next season. We're going to be in trouble next year, with potentially over $20 million invested in cap penalties, after all of today's cuts. It's like paying for an invisible Aso. lol.

I should stop reading into the cap stuff...because no one out there, ever has the right numbers. Old sources said cutting Davis would save $1.8M...apparently today it was $6M. Dallas seems to have their own set of rules regarding the cap. They do what other teams cannot.

Our ****** cap situation for next season is 100% real with that dead money, however.

We signed Letuli??? Wow. Been a while since Dallas looked at Hawaii kids. Doubt he makes the team.

The dead money doesn't count against the cap, so it bothers me none. Not like Jerry won't be groveling in profits. He's probably got nose hairs made of gold.
