Or just the same people who compare every white receiver to another white receiver. Why can't he be a guy like Randle El(He isn't but the question applies). Any way he likely won't make the final roster, but we do tend to keep at least one receiver on the practice squad, sometimes two, so don't be too surprised if he ends up there.

Thanks to bonekrusher for the sig

Interesting story on Demarcus Ware--in the NY Times, of all places.

Not too many white receivers have the same type of body movements (quick twitch muscle movement) that black receivers do, so for comparison's sake, it's easier to make.

Yes, it is. But the point is still the same. Welker was compared to Wayne Chrebet coming out of college. And now most white receivers are compared to Welker. Not trying to be racist. Just pointing out the stereotyping.

It's not being racist. ...and not everyone in the whole world does it, so what you're saying is not actually 100% correct. A lot of people do it because they make for the best comparisons. Blacks compare favorably to Blacks and Whites compare favorably to Whites. It's not a bad thing, like you seem to be referring to. Throwing the word "stereotyping" out there makes it seem like it's bad. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

              • Hurd and Jenkins quotes

Hurd on Glenn's absence and increased reps in OTAs.

"It's an opportunity for me to move into the limelight," said Hurd, 23. "It's an opportunity for me to become a No. 1, No. 2 or No. 3 receiver. Terrell (Owens) and Terry always tell me work hard, go for that No. 1 spot. Don't settle for less. Don't settle to be in the back seat."

                Jenkin's take on the defense.

"I feel like it can be one of the best defenses that ever played the game," he said. "We're filled with talent at each position, starters and backups."

Just some random quotes that stood out a little. I absolutely love Hurd's mentality, always have. You wont find a harder worker and he has a great head on his shoulders. He listens and is always looking to improve. The type of player coaches dream about.

As for Big Mike...gotta love the optimism, haha. Hopefully, this D can go down as one of the greats...it's still a little early yet. But anyway, Mike seems like he's having a ball out there and his teammates are obviously making quite the impression on him.

In other news...Mini Camp starts today. We should be getting a ton of information these next few days.

Yea I'll be tuned in heavily for mini camp news...I'm excited for every level we get to from here on out.

And speaking about WR reps, TO won't be at the mini camp all week for undisclosed reasons, which is great for our WRS, no Glenn or TO, plenty of 1st team reps for Hurd, Austin, & Stanback at some point.

Also was noted Pacman was the 1st one on the field:)

                        • That means Hurd will get the bulk of 1st team reps. Woo!

Hopefully, all is well w/ T.O., though.
