    • I wasn't sure if Ball or Oglesby would make it, looks like we kept a good amount of DB's...Any word on when we get our PS guys picked out?

        • Chris Simms was cut too, just something to keep an eye on....Bobby Sippio was cut too, talk about a guy I wouldn't mind having on the PS, I've seen quite a bit of him and he can really play.

          • Only real surprises are keeping 11 lineman and maybe the fact that we kept Oglesby and Ball. Tis a sexy roster, though. Would look a lot better though, if Sam didnt get hurt in the last game.

I know right. Great kid, I really liked what I saw out of him as a person but, he didnt do anything to make the team. I told you all not to get to caught up in the hype. :) I dont think someone will pick him up...unless desperate for a return man, he'll probably get through to the PS, if we want him, that is. Maybe we'll opt for Jefferson and maybe Lowber instead?

              Thanks BoneKrusher^

              • I like Jefferson alot too, he made some plays so he would make a great choice to keep around on the PS, especially if he's only 22 or so.

Also don't you guys see us making a move here? No way we keep that many lineman and we go into Cleveland with 2 WR's dressing, it just doesn't make sense, what if Crayton has to go down even if for a series?

Somebody at WR will be added from somewhere, even if its just a quick fix.

Probably...maybe a Rector or Lelie for a game or two or three. :( I dont know about Rector though because, what does he offer that Jefferson doesnt? Nothing. Terry is the most logical because, he knows the plays but, who knows what happens there. There is going to be a bit of a learning curve if we add a new guy and that guy wont even be able to contribute week 1 more than likely. We're in a bit of a bind...maybe Hurd isnt that bad off, maybe he can go week 2...we still havent heard anything on that, severity wise. Everything just says, "out for opener". If that's the case, a WR is not needed.

                  • Do you think we could squeek by Cleveland with only 2 WR's? That would mean we only dress two, so we would be trying to throw Pacman out there and telling him to run fade routes almost at that point...If Glenn can at least run full speed I really want him out there IF thats a plausible option...I would throw up if we signed Lelie, but hell he is fast, but like you said what new guy would know the system fast enough to contribute? Pisses me off even more about Hurd, he should of not played 1 snap just like TO and the rest of them.

Week 1 is going to get real interesting...Garrett is going to have to get incredibly creative and yes it sounds stupid but, i wouldnt be shocked to see us dress two WRs, as bad as that sounds. We do have a bunch of guys who can lineup in the slot. But yeah, other than Terry no one out there is going to be able to digest the playbook fast enough to help anyway. So, who knows what we're going to do? If we do add a WR, though Marten and Ball are at the top of the cut list.

edit...Even if we did add a Lelie or who ever...Witten would most likely see the majority of time in the slot...because, like i said, it's going to be very difficult to learn the playbook in less than a week.

Also, I fully expect to beat the Browns...even if we only have T.O. and Patty out there.

                      • I havent seen a lot of good Wrs on cut lists today...Keary Colbert was released, though...so that could be an option if we go that route.

                        • Quinn Gray was cut as well...if we do want a QB, he's a pretty good one.

                          • Simms actually said he wanted to play for us or the Packers, depending on what the price will cost I think we at least check with him, and Gray wouldn't be a bad option either he's decent...There might be some options via trade also, we need to get something for all these lineman that cost middle rd picks and are back ups at best.

                            • We just signed Keith Davis...so long Alan Ball. Great re-pick up.

                              • If we only dress 2 I've read that we could see Witten/Felix in as the number 3 with Martellus coming in at TE.

Also, I'm guessing we will rely heavily on Barber this first game or two. I guess that's why we pay him the big bucks though right?

As long as the defense plays well we should be ok. If they start slow like they did against the giants last year... well, we probably wont win that shoot out.

Word that I've read is also that Stanback is ready to play with his arm in a harness. I'm not sure how effective he'll be, seeing that he probably isn't even as far along as Austin and Sam were at this point last year (even though the coaches say he is) but at least we have the option of having a true WR in there to fill a spot.
