  • I find it HILARIOUS that Romo is now the guy getting thrown under the bus. I read those comments on DMN and I literally couldnt stop laughing. What is he like the 2nd or 3rd highest rated QB in the last three years? Tony is a great QB...he's an upgrade over most of the leagues QBs save about 5/6 teams perhaps. He's only been starting for 2 and a half years. Dallas fans are so insanely demanding and turn on their players way too quickly. I honestly dont think most cowboy fans watch other teams play unless it's against us or random playoff games. Because if they did, they would realize we have ourselves one damn good QB. Tony's not perfect but, he isnt the reason this team isnt winning super bowl after super bowl right now. ugh. His job is not in jeopardy at all and I could guarantee that.

edit...just a little something to add. Those fans on DMN are some of the stupidest posters ever. Nearly everything posted is moronic, it's such a displeasure reading them. They're idiots. /end mini rant on the DMN Blog. ugh.

edit number 2...The actual people working on the DMN blog arent too bright either. okay done. ha.

Ya dmn posters are terrible...it's almost as if people are faking it.

IDK maybe I'm still just struck by Tony's post Philly game talk....but we all remember the beginning of the year when you were talking about Tony being depressed....if he comes out and has that same mantality next year...I wouldn't be surprised to see Jerry bring out the axe....not that it would be justified...but it could end up being a lot like the TO situation....obviously not the conflict..but if a lack of interest in the game and another flop could lead to cut concerns.

      • DMN has a bunch of kid posters posting comments, 13 and 14 year old kids who just want to ***** and moan, I'm certain of it now...Just look back at the old post and you see the same crap even when it's a good move, gets old.

Anyways, I think we need another decent QB option if Tony flops, now if we draft a guy in the mid rounds that we like, it's a thought, but I don't see him going anywhere if we don't have any better options...The heat will most certainly be on with a flop this year.

Tony was certainly depressed at a point but, he came back refreshed after the injury. I honestly do believe that no T.O. means less stress there...obviously, there will still be stress because, now there are no more excuses (unless you count Garrett)...blah, blah, blah but, I think the move is greatly going to benefit him. Also, Tony wont be asked to do as much because, all signs point to us commiting more to the running game. He should be fine...the guy has all the talent in the world. I'm not worried.

Also just throwing this out there...I'm ready for an open competition for that #2 receiver spot...Patty, Miles, and Sam top performer in training camp/preseason should get it.

          Thanks BoneKrusher^

Yea I've been kinda forgetting about Hurd lately I can't lie, but depending on how healthy he is at this point, wouldn't surprise me to see him pass Crayton at some point during the year...Hurd can run routes and catch just as good as Crayton and he's much more explosive, though I think Miles is better suited to be the #2 guy on the outside I'd welcome an open competition, I think it brings the best out of the entire WR core and barring an injury I think we'll be ok at WR.

Still want to bring in a KR/PR specialist, and I value that position pretty high since were probably still looking for that guy, someone who can play out of the slot also because you never know who is going to stay healthy, both Miles and Hurd still need to prove they can get through a full season.

Out of sight, out of mind...everyone is forgetting about Hurd. In training camp and preseason last year we saw him on the outside with Crayton in the slot a lot...and there was never an actual clear cut winner in the Austin vs Hurd competition. They both got hurt. Austin certainly has the upper hand now but, I dont think anyone can sleep on Hurd.

I agree that we could use a speed guy/return guy but, if we opt against adding a receiver...I'm still okay with it.

              • D I wanted to comment on your 53 man...but figured I'll keep it in here.

Phillips at TE idk about that...I really think the team is high on Hannah....although it was only a 7th round pick I don't see us touching TE or RB in this draft.

Those 7th rounders can really go a million different directions. I just went with a gut feeling on the whole thing.

                  • Ya wasn't doing anything outside of nitpicking really...just thought it was something to note...as I think Hannah makes the 53 man roster this year.

                        • I'd like to pick up Torry Holt if he gets cut.

                          • I wouldn't, I'm ready to go all or nothing with the young guys we have for at least one season, Stanback included...He hasn't been mentioned much but he should be the WR who is our slot, return man but he hasn't panned out, I just want to see some competition and see who emerges, sucks we won't see another Hard Knocks :)

                            • You know, I would like to see Stainback get some serious reps, too.

The guy has some serious tools. With his speed, he, RW & Austin should be a pretty formidable trio.

                              • Yall know, yall are really depending on receivers who have done and showed absolutely nothing. The way yall talk about stanback, hurd, and austin would have me thinking they were already special players.
