  • What does McShay have against Stafford?

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/

Go to podcast and listen to McShay and Kiper going at it about Stafford for 10-15 minutes. Kiper was punishing McShay. McShay has Stafford #7 in his big board (better than Sanchez) but feels Stafford is some idiot who is not mature enough to handle the Lions while Kiper was sticking up for Stafford. Somehow McShay feels Stafford must start on day 1. I'm not sure why McShay even has a job.

Ya, it's McShay. Good for laughs (Fili Moala, #1 overall).

It's more interesting if he and Kiper don't always agree. ;)

Maybe he does really think the Lions should take Jason Smith instead of Stafford, but I wonder if they just argue to make thing more interesting.

This would be a pretty boring podcast:

"Mel who should the Lions take at #1"
        "Stafford"
        "Todd?"
        "Stafford"

"Ok the next question comes from Appleton, Wisconsin..."

I think Mcshay came across as a hypocrite in this and once agian showed that he is just around to spice things up on TV/radio. He made a big deal around deadline about how much better Bradford was then Stafford. Then everyone is shocked when Bradford stayes and Sanchez goes pro. So then he jumps Sanchez over Stafford. He talks on and on about how Stafford shouldn't go 1st overall. Then when asked him his own ranking has Stafford #7 overall ahead of Sanchez. The only reason he gave was Stafford wouldn't be able to produce right (which 95% of the people a agree with). He says he would rather take Jason Smith 1st overall and hope Sanchez drops where you can trade back up to get him or just wait and draft Stephen Mcgee (lol). Going by his own rankings it would make more sense to take Stafford 1st (his 7 bpa) and trade back up to get one of the OT.
