  • 2006 Packers training camp pics

Last season I was able to attend the Packers training camp and took some photos. I had tickets were we were able to go inside the fence and were literally 10 feet away from the players. Keep in mind that these are from the 2006 training camp but I thought I'd share them anyways. Enjoy.

If that fence was all that stood between me and the almighty....Well, let's just say I'd still be in jail.

What do the vikings and marijuana have in common? Every time you put them in a bowl
    they get smoked.

I was actually a little suprised at how small he looked. He looked more athletic than big. Marquand Manuel was another guy who just looked small as well. Al Harris and Charles Woodson were some big guys. Being CBs I thought they would be a bit leaner to be more agile but that wasn't the case.

No problem. I'm hoping to land tickets again this year so hopefully I'll be able to provide some more pictures. These were from a night practice and we were looking directly into the sun which is why some of them didn't turn out that great. Fun time though!

We're planning a trip to TC right now. I've got a few questions if you don't mind...Are there bleachers to sit? what's the view like from outside the fence? How early before a practice do you suggest being there? And what percentage of the players do you think do the autographing/meeting the fans gig after practice?
              I remember: Sean Taylor

Yes there are bleachers to sit on and they are located right along the fence line on the northern end of the practice facility. Its really the only spot to sit and watch all the action.

You can stand on the eastern side of the fences but thats where the QBs takes reps so you don't see alot of the action. Thats also where they have scrimmages towards the end of practice as well. Also, the eastern side is where the players enter onto the field and is a great spot to get pictures of them walking/biking to the practice field.

I'd suggest being there at least an hour in advance. Maybe an hour and half to 2 hours if you want really good bleacher seats. The players are all at the stadium getting ready before the practices and its about 3/4 of a mile that they walk/bike to the practice facility. If you want autographs thats probably the place to start but you'll probably only get one if a player deciedes to walk. I'd suggest trying to get them on their walk back to the stadium after practice is over.

The view is nice but obviously the higher you are the farther you are able to see. If you can get near the top of a section of bleachers in the middle or more to the east side you should be set. The QBs are on the east side, the WRs are right by them, then come the RBs and special teams guys near the middle and the defense in on the western side.

No problem. Anything else just let me know. I should probably add that if you're going to a night practice, they have these lights and run off a generator so you might want to bring ear plugs. They aren't overly load but if your sitting by one for an hour or two it would probably be wise to have some ear protection.
