If the Packers saw that much in him, they would have taken him over Hall and Wynn. He's the underdog at this point.

How is he a Griffith clone? Griffith is a much better athlete.

Bubba Franks is gonna get cut--I just have that feeling. The Pack is very high on Zac Alcorn, so I predict the TE situation to be Lee/Harris/Alcorn.

No way. Bubba Franks is one of the safest players on the roster this year. At worst, he'll be the blocking tight end for the Packers. Expect him to be used in the passing game more often this year as well.

Not sure where you got the info on Alcorn. jsonline had a quote from McCarthy after the season that he liked Tory Humphrey a lot and that he thought Tory had the best hands on the team.

Franks is gonna be back, unless he's hurt or flat out bombs in TC. He's a great blocker, though his receiving production last year was terrible. He's also a veteran leader and works as hard as anyone on the team. I would have liked a faster TE down the seam, but that's in conjunction with Bubba, not replacing him.

With all the receivers that TT has brought in, I don't think he can keep four TEs like last year, but you never know. Franks/Lee/Harris is the likely to me, though if Humphrey is healthy he could bump Lee or maybe Harris, though TT doesn't like cutting his picks.
The pain fades and the good memories will remain.

"Stealing Moses Formation" : Redux. Some spots it is only because of injury a guy is listed lower than where I think he'll be on the depth chart, like at SS and Underwood coming back from injury.

For the 53 spots, I split even with offense and defense each getting 25, and then 3 for Special Teams.

                1. DeShawn Wynn
                2. Korey Hall

Look at the date Barry was released, then look at the date of his post. I didn't know he was supposed to be able to know the future.

Roster is 53, not 55. You also Left out LS-Rob Davis, so that makes your roster 56, with 28 guys on defense. The team likely will not keep 10 D-linemen and 8 LBs. I'm also not too sure about the TE group nor your WR group, but with 25 players on offense it is not too far out. I see 6 WRs, and whoever is #6 will likely get cut or become mysteriously "injured" when Koren Robinson comes back. I don't see Clowney as the PR ahead of Blackmon, Jones and Woodson.
The pain fades and the good memories will remain.

I did one of these back in April just after the draft so it might be a little out of date but here it is anyways with some cuts and so on. But here it is anyways:

So now the fun part begins, breaking down the roster and seeing who will make the 53 man roster. Below are my post-draft projections and the 1st of the season. Each position is broken down and each player is ranked in order on the projected depth chart.

Each player on the projected depth chart has the possibility of making it on the 53 man roster. Every one of the Packers 2007 draft picks are included as well. A player maked RED means that they failed to make my projected roster for the 2007-08 season but they still have a real chance to make the team.

                              The Offense
                              (27 players)

                              QB:

                              1) Brett Favre - Obviously the clear cut starter for opening day.

                              2) Aaron Rodgers - Injuries have slowed his progress but he's still the second man in line.

                              3) Ingle Martin - He was McCarthy's hand picked project QB in the 2006 draft so he has the leg up on any incoming competition.

                              RB:

                              1) Brandon Jackson - I feel like he will be the opening day starter over Morency. The Packers made him their 2nd round pick for a reason and as Ted Thompson has shown, he isn't afraid to play rookies right away.

                              2) Vernand Morency - Likely will be right there with Jackson for that starting job but he isn't the future at RB.

                              3) Arliss Beach - Likely would have made the team last year if he didn't have that season ending injury in training camp. The Packers are very high on him and he is an ideal fit for the scheme.

                              4) Noah Herron - Herron played well in his limited opportunities last year but he is a bigger RB and with Jackson, Morency, and Beach as better fits for the scheme he might be looking for a new job.

                              FB:

                              1) Brandon Miree - The FB that finally took the job from William Henderson. He fits the scheme and is returning from last year. Problem for him is that he now faces two 2007 draft picks for the job.

                              2) DeShawn Wynn - A RB that the Packers will try at FB. With the stiff competition at RB, I feel like this is his best spot to try and make the team.

                              3) Korey Hall - A LB that the Packer will try at FB. I don't see it happening but I can see him as a practice squad player.

                              WR:

                              1) Donald Driver - Clearly the #1 guy.

                              2) Greg Jennings - Clearly the #2 guy.

                              3) Koren Robinson - Will be the #3 guy when he returns from suspension.

                              4) James Jones - Our 2007 3rd round pick so he better be the #3 option until Robinson returns.

                              5) Robert Ferguson - Alot of guys in competition again this year. Ferguson just isn't worth the trouble anymore. Time to move on and let him go.

                              6) David Clowney - To me he's a bubble guy. If he can't show anything in the return game I don't know if we'll keep him or not. He lacks polish as a WR as well. With Robinson out though, he stays - for the time being.

                              7) Ruvell Martin - Showed some promise last year and I think he'll make the team up until the point that Robinson comes back.

                              TE:

                              1) Bubba Franks - Still our best option at TE. Should remain the starter throughout the process.

                              2) Donald Lee - I think that Harris could battle this spot out. Lee had a case of the drops last year and only signed a one year deal. They may look to give Harris or even Humphrey more reps.

                              3) Clark Harris - 7th rounder the Ted Thompson was pretty high on. Not the real receiving or blocking threat but has value as a long snapper and could eventually replace Rob Davis for those duties.

                              4) Tory Humphrey - Didn't see alot of action last year other than special teams. The Packers still like his abilities and he has a chance of making the team again this year.

                              LT:

                              1) Chad Clifton - Nearing the end but still has a little gas in the tank.

                              2) Allen Barbre - We have our future replacement at LT but he still needs a little work and development.

                              RT:

                              1) Mark Tauscher - Injuries hit him last year but nobody will challenge him for the starting job.

                              2) Tony Moll - Played well when filling in for injured players. Versitile but still a little raw in terms of development. I'd like to see him work mainly at RT.

                              3) Josh Bourke - Another player who would have made the team last year if not for injuries. He has experience at OT and the Packers were high on him as well.

                              LG:

                              1) Daryn Colledge - Really started to progress later in the season.

                              2) Tony Palmer - This position is up for grabs but Palmer has the upper hand since he was on the roster last year.

                              RG:

                              1) Jason Spitz - Not the ideal guard for the scheme but he works. Should remain the starter at RG this year.

                              2) Junius Coston - Has the attributes but never really put it together. His job may be up in the air but at the least he is adequate backup depth.

                              C:

                              1) Scott Wells - No doubt the starter at center. RG Jason Spitz will again back him up.

                              The Defense
                              (26 players)

                              DT:

                              1) Ryan Pickett - The space eater who will remain our #1 nose tackle.

                              2) Justin Harrell - Being our top pick in the 2007 draft, I'd almost expect him to play the 3 technique from day 1. Maybe come out in passing situation.

                              3) Corey Williams - Really came on strong last season but with Pickett and Harrell on the roster, that leaves him out of the starting job and puts his career as a Packer in jeopardy since he is a free agent after the season.

                              4) Colin Cole - A nice option in the rotation but with the depth and the amount of draft pick player, I don't see a real need for him. I'd expect Jolly to get a little more action.

                              5) Johnny Jolly - A big guy who can plug up the running lanes. Might be fighting for a job but I think he'll make the team.

                              LDE:

                              1) Aaron Kampman - Still our top option at DE.

                              2) Michael Montgomery - Descent backup with little competition behind him.

                              RED:

                              1) Cullen Jenkins - New contract means he'll see alot more action. Takes over for KGB.

                              2) Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila - Potential cut but I think we'll keep him around as a pass rush specialist.

                              MLB:

                              1) Nick Barnett - New contract and should remain at MLB.

                              2) Abdul Hodge - Probably won't crack the lineup this year but will be our top backup at all LB positions.

                              WLB:

                              1) A.J. Hawk - 5th overall pick last year, of course he'll be starting.

                              2) Desmond Bishop - Will be played at WLB instead of his college position MLB. Special teamer.

                              SLB:

                              1) Brady Poppinga - Most likely will start again this year but be taken out on passing downs.

                              2) Tracey White - Special teamer who could get bumped if Korey Hall can't cut it at FB and moves back to LB.

                              CB:

                              1) Al Harris - Aging but still our top CB.

                              2) Charles Woodson - Had a career year last season. Definetly our #2.

                              3) Patrick Dendy - I have as the nickleback mainly because he played there alot last season and has the edge over Walker since he's coming in as a free agent and Blackmon because of injury.

                              4) Frank Walker - Stays healthy which is something that Blackmon didn't do last year. Pencil him in as the dimeback for the time being.

                              5) Will Blackmon - I think that the Packers believe he can be the future at CB for us but will need to show he can stay healthy first.

                              FS:

                              1) Nick Collins - This year jis the year to see if he's the real deal. Should remain the starter.

                              SS:

                              1) Marquand Manuel - Starter last year and I think he'll be given the chance to win the job again this year. Could be a potential cut though.

                              2) Marviel Underwood - Gave a big time effort last year and might have been the starter if he didn't tear his ACL in the preseason.

                              3) Aaron Rouse - Big guy who as a 3rd round pick is expected to be in the mix right away.

                              4) Tyrone Culver - Will fight for the job but with Underwood's showing last year and Rouse being a 3rd round pick, he might be the odd man out.

                              Special Teams
                              (3 players)

                              K:

                              1) Mason Crosby - Leg and accuracy should put him ahead of Rayner

                              2) Dave Rayner - Nice kid but not the level of Crosby.

                              P:

                              1) Jon Ryan - Played well last year and should only improve.

                              2) David Lonie - Camp leg.

                              LS:

                              1) Rob Davis - Most likely his last season if he does end up making the team.

                              2) Clark Harris - If he snaps well, we could save a roster spot by cutting Davis
